Painting Landscapes Workshop

Join us for a 'painting landscapes' workshop run by illustrator Jess Nash. Throughout the session, you will be introduced to different painting techniques from mixing vibrant colours to painting loosely - resulting in the creation of your landscape painting on paper to take home. This workshop is perfect for those who have a good knowledge of basic colour mixing and are looking for a cosy painting class. Feel free to bring along an image of a landscape that you would like to paint in the session. This could be photos that you've taken yourself or just scenes from other photos that you like. Landscape images will be provided by Jess, if you don't have any. ***This week's session will be focussed on creating very colourful landscapes. We'll be looking at how natural light affects the colour of landscapes and Jess will re-introduce you to some simple techniques that will show you how to recreate it with your paints and brushes.*** \*All materials are provided, however this is a paid event. Monument and Movement - Draw in the British Museum

\- Meet at 10:30 on the seats near the information desk in the Great Court\. \- Individual tuition with helpful step by step explanations\, demonstrations as you draw in the galleries\. \- Share your work with other students in the cafe are of the Great Court\, located nest to the Sainsbury Exhibitions Gallery\. The British Museum houses sculptures from many different cultures, many of which are from elaborate monuments. Some have powerful and moving static presence, and others a lively sense of movement. \- Understand the role statics and dynamics in the making of a drawing \- Practise techniques for aligning forms and sensing proportions \- Use a variety of lines and tones \- Respond to the flow of rhythm

Café sketching session (+ Movie hangout) ☕✏️🎬

Get ready to bring your sketchbook and art supplies for a chilled café sketching session! There'll also be a movie hangout afterwards! You're free to just attend the sketching session or to meet up with us for the movie hangout. If you'd like to come to the movie hangout, scroll down for more info. No matter your skill level lets grab a coffee and unleash our creativity into our sketchbooks. There's no formal guidance, you'll be free to get on with your own drawings/personal art projects while being able to connect with other local artists. You're welcome to join in on the group conversations or quietly get on with your art studies whatever your preference. A few basic drawing supplies (pencils, colouring pencils, erasers etc) will be provided but please bring your own sketchbook / tablet / paper / something to draw on! After the sketching session at approx 4:15pm, we will make our way to Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square for 5:20pm to see the cult classic **Speed Racer**. # **Join us for an afternoon of drawing in the heart of Angel, exploring the character, typography, and visual stories of local shopfronts.** **We'll meet outside Angel Station and take a slow sketching walk through the neighbourhood, paying attention to hand-painted signs, vintage lettering, market stalls, window displays, and the unique identities of independent businesses.** **Whether you're an experienced urban sketcher, designer, illustrator, or simply curious about drawing, you're welcome to join. Art in the Park - Victoria Park and regents Canal

FREE THE FIRST TIME YOU ATTEND. Meet at the Crown pub and draw or paint landscapes in Victoria Park or along the Regent’s Canal. This is a very a friendly and well-established group. You can draw or paint in your own way or the tutor can provide a plan for the session for you to follow. This will help you to understand techniques, motivations, colour and composition. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MATERIALS - pencil and a sketchbook or drawing pad and/or your choice of colour medium (pastels, water colour gouache etc.) and pastel or water colour paper.

Join us for a relaxed sketching session from 2–4pm on Sundays followed by a warm drink and a chat in a nearby café. 😊 We usually meet at the V&A Museum or outside in a local park when the weather allows. Please check the location listed in the event details each week, as it may change depending on rain, sun, or gallery access. This is a calm, informal, free meetup — you're welcome to draw at your own pace, chat a little, or just get into the flow. It’s open to all levels, from total beginners to experienced artists. 🖍️ Art materials: In museums/galleries, we can only use dry, non-messy materials: pens, biros, colour pencils, markers, and fine liners (no paint, pastel, or charcoal).
