Need some inspiration and/or dedicated writing time for your current WIP? Grab your laptop or notebook and join us at Simply show up at Laie Bookstore (we'll be upstairs). Feel free to jump into working on your own writing project immediately, or wait until the quiet time starting at 5:30. at 5 pm for a bit of writer chat, before diving into an hour and a half of focused writing time. At 7, we head to a nearby bar to discuss how it all went.

**We'll gather at Neal's spot with the goal to create for 2 hours, with some quick breaks in between.** **Below is our approx. schedule - so please try to be on time :)** **6:30pm - arrival and 5 minute setup** **6:35pm - \~10 minute word vomit** **6:45pm - 5 minute break and reset** **6:50pm - 30 minute writing sesh!** **7:20pm - 5 minute break** **7:25pm - \~30 minute writing sesh!** **7:55pm - 5 minute break** **8:00pm - \~30 minute writing sesh!** **8:30pm - 10 minute decompression meditation** **8:40pm - If folks want a final writers sesh, we do it. ¡Bienvenido a nuestro **taller de relato corto** de los martes! No importa si tienes experiencia o si acabas de empezar. Todo lo que necesitas es algo para escribir y ganas de pasar un rato agradable compartiendo tu pasión por la escritura. El moderador plantea una consigna y da entre 20 y 30 minutos con el objetivo de que estructures un relato (poema, reflexión, ensayo...). Después cada participante lee su texto en voz alta y lo comentamos entre todos. Una manera divertida de mantener en forma el «músculo» creativo y de encontrar tu propia voz literaria, mientras aprendemos unos de otros. Taquilla inversa, según satisfacción. Los beneficios son para ayudar al mantenimiento de la asociación.

This meetup is for anyone—anyone at all—who enjoys playing around with words. You’ll be given a prompt (usually one word, such as “playground” or “shiver”) and time to express yourself in writing in response to it. Anything goes: prose, poetry, lists, letters, lyrics; any form which calls to you and demands expression. After we have finished writing, you will be invited to share your piece with the group (totally optional, but the feedback can be fun). The feedback (this is the only part with rules): Responses should be in the form of what stayed with you, what you remembered from the piece, what resonated with you. This is NOT a writing or craft class; there is no good or bad here. Critiques or suggestions miss the point. This is new, tender writing, and we honor it as such. All writing is considered fictional. This is liberating for the writer, as you are free to write about literally anything and it will never be considered to be “about you.” The first person is always just a character. Please bring your own writing equipment. It is helpful to come on time so you can hear the prompt and have enough time to write. Please buy a drink or snack from Charcha, our generous host.

EL TALLER 27 DE FEBRERO EN EL **CARRER MATA 32, METRO PARALEL - LÍNEA VERDE** - Se trata de un taller de pintura acondicionado para ESCRIBIR! ¡Bienvenidos al taller de escritura creativa de los viernes. En este taller nos enfocamos en aprender y fomentar la escritura creativa. Hay un moderador que plantea un tema a fin de que todos los asistentes escriban un relato, poema, diálogo, etc. de forma creativa. Después leemos lo escrito y recibimos feedback. No importa si eres un escritor experimentado o si acabas de empezar, este taller está hecho para ti. Todo lo que necesitas es un papel y bolígrafo, o un ordenador si lo prefieres, y muchas ganas de pasarlo bien mientras conoces a gente que comparte tu pasión por la escritura. Nuestro objetivo es que te diviertas mientras aprendes, que te inspires a escribir más y conozcas a gente que tiene tu misma inquietud. A casual (but coordinated) coffee break to meet new friends, take a Zoom break, and get your AM caffeine fix. Stop by for a few minutes or stay the whole time. Bring a friend or wander in solo. Come for the coffee and company, or just bring a book to read while surrounded by other in-real-life, community-seeking humans. Come by every Friday, or just when you happen to be in town. Make it whatever you need it to be that week. It's not an \*event\* per se, but we hope these Friday meet-ups can become a fixture of the bookshop! Gathering spot will be in the downstairs area of the bookshop (near the Community Library). Coffee and tea are 1.50€ and can be purchased at the cash register upstairs. El presente taller ofrece un panorama de lecturas que abarca la poesía, el cuento, el ensayo y la divulgación científica con el fin de explorar el concepto de “ecotopía” de Francisco Serratos. Para ello, se propondrán textos de lectura individual que establecerán un diálogo con la red literaria expuesta en cada sesión. Estos escenarios de “futurabilidad” (en términos de Franco “Bifo” Berardi), donde la naturaleza adquiere un lugar fundamental, se agruparán en tres apartados: flora, fauna, y funga. Give us stories of first freedoms, bad decisions, loud emotions, secret notebooks, friendships that felt eternal, and mistakes that still make you cringe. Maybe it’s about the teenager you once were. Or the one you’re parenting now. Or the one you’re constantly negotiating with. Or the moment your teenage self still shows up, uninvited.
