Imperfect Perfection: Making Without a Map

**Daniel Banks, Artist Workshop** What happens when we stop asking a work to be perfect—or even asking it to become something we already recognize? Artist and designer Daniel Banks begins many of his paintings with broad layers of black paint and no predetermined subject. He looks, turns the work, responds, covers and uncovers, allowing its direction to emerge through the process rather than imposing an outcome from the beginning. In this hands-on creative lab, participants gather around a shared table to work through layering, scraping, rotating, limiting the palette and responding to what appears. The emphasis is not on producing a technically accomplished painting, but on noticing possibilities, making decisions and allowing uncertainty to become part of the work. At a moment when social media and artificial intelligence increasingly offer us images of frictionless perfection, **Imperfect Perfection** makes space for the visible human trace: hesitation, revision, accident, discovery and the unexpected turn that gives a work its life. This is not a traditional painting class. It is an accessible exploration of creative process for anyone curious about making without already knowing where they are going. No previous art experience is needed, and all materials are included. **Duration:** 2½ hours **Capacity:** 10–14 participants **Location:** Claroscuro Galeria and its adjoining creative space **Format:** Hands-on work around a shared, covered table **Materials:** Included, with a materials fee Materials fee: €15 Language: English

ART EXHIBITION OPENING AT GALLERY IN BORN (FREE!)

(ENG) We invite you to the **OPENING OF THE ART EXHIBITION "READING and ROCK & ROLL" by the artist Josep Mª Carbó.** *Lectura y Rock & Roll* portrays those moments we reserve for ourselves: reading a book, listening to a record, getting lost in a museum or simply enjoying a moment of calm. The exhibition embraces the pause as a way of regaining balance and disconnecting from the noise of everyday life. Books, music, vinyl records and art thus become spaces for freedom, concentration and discovery. And rock & roll appears as a symbol of rebellion: a way of going against the current and asserting our right to stop. **Join our group for this event at a Contemporary Art Gallery in Barcelona's Born Quarter!!** **WHEN?** Saturday, OCTOBER 17th, from 19 h pm to 21 h pm **PRICE: FREE ENTRY! A 1€ donation is requested upon arrival to help pay the group's Meetup fee. Please pay the organizer in exact change.** After the art gallery, we'll go together for drinks at a nearby bar and chat!! **LIMITED PLACES!** The total available spots are distributed between this and our other Meetup groups. In other words, more people will be attending than you see listed here! :) **WHERE?**: Barcelona City Center (Born Quarter). The address will be sent via private message to those who have signed up. By registering for and participating in this activity, you acknowledge and accept these terms. .........
