Slow Dating for Women who love Women – and books

Fri, Oct 16, 5:00 PM
From Slow Dating for People that Love to Read (straight/queer)

Picture a warm room full of books, and women who actually read them. This is slow dating the Metis way: an evening built around meeting *people*, with real conversation taking the place of endless profiles. You'll get to know other queer women who love to read through a handful of gentle, low-pressure activities we've put together, the kind that work beautifully if you're on the shy side, or if you'd honestly rather talk about a favourite novel than make small talk. Books are the icebreaker, and everyone moves at their own pace, with time for each conversation to unfold. The evening also has room to breathe. We start at 19:00 and the programme runs to around 21:30, and these evenings tend to drift happily onward: people stay, keep talking over a glass of wine, and it easily rolls on towards 22:00. Stay as long as the conversation does. Maybe it's the beginning of something lovely. Hosted by the queer team behind Metis, in our multilingual bookshop-café on Gleimstraße in Prenzlauer Berg. Expect a fully queer atmosphere, queer books and queer conversation starters throughout. The evening runs in **English and German**, so you can choose whichever feels most like home. Come for the books, stay for the people. 📍 Metis Books & Café · Gleimstraße 21 · 10437 Berlin (Prenzlauer Berg) 🗓 Friday, 16 October · from 19:00 (easily until \~22:00) 🎟 €13.90 in advance · €15.90 at the door · Limited spots, please book ahead

Knitting Workshop 🧶

Sun, Oct 25, 1:00 PM
From Purls and Pints 🍻
5.0

**Purls & Pints Knitting Workshop** 🧶 The leaves are turning and there's a chill in the air—which means it's officially knitting season! Instead of our regular meetup where we welcome experienced knitters, Purls & Pints is hosting a cosy autumn workshop this week. It's perfect for complete beginners as well as anyone who knows some of the basics and would like to build their confidence and skills. You'll learn essential knitting techniques in a friendly, supportive environment with plenty of time to practice and ask questions. Whether it's your very first stitch or you're ready to take the next step, you'll be in good company—and what better way to spend a crisp autumn afternoon than with yarn in hand and something warm nearby? And of course you're welcome to grab a coffee/pint while knitting (or purling). 😉 **All materials are provided**, so there's no need to bring anything—just yourself! We look forward to knitting with you! **Photos** We may take a few photos to share with the group—just let an organiser know on the day if you'd rather not be in them. We look forward to knitting with you this autumn! 🍂🧶 **Please note:** All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be given after purchase.
