Meetup for laid off folks in Berlin

Meetup for laid off folks in Berlin

Sat, Jul 4, 4:00 PM
From Generation Layoff

Please RSVP on luma: https://luma.com/xmc1l5eg # Laid off? Same! Barely anyone I know hasn't been laid off at least once. Layoffs feel like another Tuesday right now. That's why I call us "Generation Layoff." If you've been laid off, or feel one coming - this is your space. This meetup is for everybody pre-, during or post-layoff. Whether you stressed out about an upcoming layoff or you've been laid off and now job-hunting or want to start something of your own - come and share. No judgment, no pressure. We share where we're at, what we're going through, and what's coming next. This isn't another networking event where we hunt opportunities and call being laid off "impacted by company restructuring." We connect people based on the challenges they're actually facing - so everyone leaves with something useful, whether that's a contact, a resource, or just knowing you're not alone. Being laid off is often treated as a taboo topic - and it shouldn't be. We'll exchange all the insider tips and tricks and get stronger together. What to Expect: → A chill, zero-judgement safe space → Addressing your challenges → People helping people ORGANISATIONAL STUFFS: → We'll meet in a park, bring a blanket to sit on, a drink of your choice and some snacks, whatever it is you need for a picnic style. → In case of rain we will go to the BRLO Brewery. If you can't find us, call +4917626669794 I will carry a sign with "GENERATION LAYOFF" though :D We meet in Gleisdreieck park here: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/rC6fh9EprxEHnxEL7?g_st=ic](https://maps.app.goo.gl/rC6fh9EprxEHnxEL7?g_st=ic&utm_source=luma)

How to Structure AI Prompts Effectively

How to Structure AI Prompts Effectively

Fri, Jul 3, 3:00 PM
From Human at Work: Navigating the AI era

**This event is taking place online.** You write a prompt. You get something back that's almost right, or completely off, or weirdly generic. You tweak it. You try again. Sound familiar? Better prompts aren't about magic phrases, they're about giving the model what it can't guess: who you are, who this is for, what shape the output should take, and what it needs to do. This session shows you the difference on a real example, gives you time to try it on something from your own work, and covers some prompting best practices along the way. 17:00 — Intro & live demo 17:20 — What made the difference? A discussion round 17:35 — Test your own prompt against a shared document 17:50 — What we noticed, what to keep, and where to go next Optional but great: Bring something you've tried to use AI for and hasn't quite landed. Business Communication: Stop Being Overlooked at Work

Business Communication: Stop Being Overlooked at Work

Thu, Jul 9, 4:00 PM
From TABL Berlin: Communication and Negotiation for Women

**You are doing the work. But are the right people seeing the value of it?** **In a difficult economy, being good at what you do is not enough. People are making decisions all the time: who gets trusted, promoted, referred, hired, renewed, funded, or invited into the next room.** **If your value is not clear in those moments, the cost is real.** **You get passed over. Your ideas get credited to someone else. Clients question your rate. Managers miss your contribution. You leave important conversations with vague promises instead of a clear next step.** **This workshop helps you make your value visible without sounding defensive, arrogant, or aggressive.** **Small group of max 20. You need working English to participate.** **This is for you if** * You deliver results but the recognition goes to someone else * You are doing more than people realise, but struggle to say it clearly * You over-explain, soften, or freeze in important conversations * You want to be taken seriously by managers, clients, partners, stakeholders, or decision-makers * You are preparing for a review, pitch, interview, promotion, raise, rate, or business conversation **What you leave with** * A framework to make your value clear * Your own real situation prepared and ready to use * Scripts for stating your contribution * Responses for pushback, dismissal, or vague answers * Practice saying it out loud in a small group * A follow-up email with the scripts and tools from the session **About the host:** Sumita Kar is the founder of Take a Brava Leap (TABL), based in Berlin. She spent 13 years building her career across global teams, moving from associate level to Vice President across customer success, cross-cultural leadership, C-level client management, high-stakes escalations, negotiations, and commercial execution. In 2023 she was recognised as one of the Top 10 Best Indian Women Leaders from Germany by Women's Entrepreneur Magazine. She has navigated these rooms as an international woman where she was often the only one. She built this session so you don't have to figure it out the way she did.

Interview Sparring Berlin

Interview Sparring Berlin

Thu, Jul 2, 5:00 PM
From Expat Frankfurt Meetup Group
4.6

Frankfurt Interview Club Get in the hot seat. Land the job. Job searching in Germany is tough. The process is long, feedback is rare, and Bewerbungsgespräche can feel isolating. You prepare alone, wonder if you’re doing it right, and never really know until it’s too late. This club exists to change that. Frankfurt Interview Club is a peer-driven community where we practice together, give real feedback, and keep each other motivated through the job search grind. This group is for professionals targeting roles in finance, consulting, strategy, business analysis, and corporate management — especially in Frankfurt’s banking and corporate hub. If you’re navigating the German Bewerbungsprozess for competitive roles and want real practice with real peers, this is your place. What we do Every meetup, someone gets in the hot seat — a real mock interview or case study in front of each other. Everyone gives and gets feedback. Then we rotate. We train like consulting candidates do: structured thinking, clear communication, pressure practice. We use frameworks from books like Case in Point and The McKinsey Way — adapted for any industry and role. No coaches. No fees. Just people helping people get better. You’ll get • Live mock interview practice in a safe space • Honest feedback from peers • Case study training you can use in any industry • A community to keep you accountable • Less frustration, more confidence Who is this for Anyone actively job searching or preparing in Germany — consulting, finance, tech, management, any field. All levels welcome. Beginners especially. Language: Mostly English, German welcome Format: Small group, max 15 people Bring: Your honest feedback and a little courage The hot seat is waiting. See you there.
