Trails Cafe Hike to the Griffith Park Observatory and Snack/Light Lunch at Top!
Sun, Aug 9, 5:00 PMGreetings, Transition To Green Community! We will be returning to our much-beloved meeting spot at the Trails Cafe, and then enjoy a hike up to the Griffith Observatory, a hike our group has done many times before. Remember that all Transition To Green hikes are family-friendly (and for children above the age of eight). We have welcomed pleasant, cooler autumn weather since the end of October, with even a few light showers, and anticipate mild conditions for our November hike, with excellent outdoor conditions expected for our trek in beautiful Griffith Park. We will be meeting in front of the Trails Café on the second Sunday of the month. During the winter months - e.g. January, February, and March, we will meet at 10:00 a.m., and will hit the beautiful nearby trails no later than 10:15 a.m. At our halfway point, at the Griffith Observatory, we will stop for a snack or light early lunch at the Cafe at the End of the Universe, where we've enjoyed some healthful meals during recent hikes, with a newly expanded menu including veggie and vegan options (by request) also available. Please bring a reusable water bottle and wear hiking boots or tennis shoes with good treads on them for gripping the ground. Also, bring a hat or visor in case the Sun decides to beam down on us. Wear some SPF 30 on your skin, especially if you're light-complexioned. You may want to apply some sunblock on your nose to prevent burning there. **Transition To Green isn't liable for you in the city park - Griffith Park area, which includes the hiking trails. You are going at your own risk.** Any questions or concerns, please email through the *Contact Us* tab that appears under "Organizers". Looking forward to visiting with everyone! Best Regards, The Transition To Green (T2G) Team FAQ: What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Parking can sometimes be challenging near the Trails Cafe, so consider carpooling if possible, or else take the Metro Red Line (subway), whose closest stop is at Hollywood and Western, a little less than one mile way from our starting/ending point ( https://media.metro.net/riding_metro/bus_overview/images/802.pdf ) https://a248.e.akamai.net/secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/7/3/event_447960883.jpeg https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/8/8/6/600_465974470.jpeg

The Rejuvenation Hang-Out: Thrive & Vibe with Moves and Talks
Sun, Aug 16, 8:30 PM# The Rejuvenation Hangout: Reset the Vibes with Moves & Talks WE WILL meet IN Dr **Paul Carlsson Park in Culver City!** **Time:** **1:30pm** Come thrive & vibe! Rejuvenate body & mind with awareness & connection with yourself and others, and a gentle yet invigorating Pilates-breath-Yoga fusion. **Part 1**-We start with a brief introduction, then expect a gentle yet invigorating 40-45 minutes Pilates/Yoga/Breath session to wake up your body and clear your mind; to enhance a sense of peace and joy! **Part 2**- **Optional** for those who'd like to hang out afterwards to chat-, connect-, and get to know each other better: We can either take a short walk (0.3 mi) to Jackson Market to get something to drink and/or eat. Love this place! It's super cute, can get a little crowded on a Sunday, but I'd say it's definitely worth it. OR We can drive a couple of miles west and take a walk at the beach. If we'd like, we can choose a place there for lunch or something to drink. **Things to bring:** Water A blanket/towel, and/or yoga mat. If you have a sensitive back or neck; bring something to prop in-under as we might lie down for a bit. An extra sweater… You never know about the weather….. **For the Feet:👣** I suggest you let your feet breathe and ground in the grass whilst in the park…. It’s also the best in order to be able to use your whole foot when doing the exercises. **How to Find Us:** Once you've parked your car around the park or on the side streets, meet us in the park. We'll be towards the centre. Looking forward to meeting you!🤗 **Oh-….almost lastly!:** When joining any of the events please be respectful and considerate and cancel your RSVP if you can’t make it so that we don't wait for you for nothing! If you're running late, please text me and let me know. However, if it's after the start, I might not see it until the exercise session is over. **If you feel unfit to participate in any of the planned activities, or, you’re not sure:** **Feel free to contact me through a Direct Message or text me at +13234046613 at least 24 hrs before the event, and we can figure it out!** **You’re also welcome to join in and just sit in silence and enjoy the vibe!!!** **Or learn more about the organizer:** Follow Kicki on Instagram: *KickisBalancedTherapy* Website: \*[www.swedishbalance.net*](http://www.swedishbalance.net*/) **Read my articles in** \*Brainzmagazine.com:\* “*Holistic Therapy for Lower Back Pain,* *Does it work?” Part 1, 2, and 3.* *“Ever Felt Better After Laughing Out Loud?* *Explore the Health Benefits of Laughter and Hypnosis”* “*Healing Through Movement and Inner Wisdom”* *Exclusive Interview with Kicki Hjortmarker* **Lastly, be aware that** you are responsible for any losses or injuries that might occur during an event. For eg. If you take off and don’t follow the group: You’re on your own! You run across a red traffic light and get run over by a car: You will have to deal with yourself and the driver… or perhaps your insurance company! Watch your vauables! Don't engage in exercises that feel unsafe to you: You're always welcome to modify or just sit in stillness. You’re responsible to bring enough water to stay hydrated. If you step, slip, fall on a rock, you and nature are the ones to blame. Hope this makes total sense!!!
