Whittier High Strangeness Experiences-First Meetup
Sat, May 30, 6:00 PM**Whittier High Strangeness Experiences – First Meetup** **Day: Saturday, May 30, 2026** **Time: 11:00 AM-1:00pm** **Location: Penn Park- 13900 Penn St., Whittier, CA 90602 (at the back of the park, in front of the entrance to the pond and stream area)** Welcome to the first Whittier High Strangeness Experiences meetup! This will be a relaxed and informal gathering where we can meet, walk, talk, share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others who are interested in high strangeness and unexplained phenomena. We will meet in the back area of the park near the entrance to the pond and stream area (the entrance is the picture on the thumbnail for the event). Once everyone arrives, we will likely take a casual walk through the park while we talk and get to know each other. This group is open to anyone interested in paranormal, supernatural, unexplained, or unusual experiences. You do not need to have your own story or encounter to attend. Those who are curious, interested in listening, or who simply want to participate in respectful conversation are absolutely welcome. The format of the group is conversational and community oriented, not formal or lecture based. Everyone is encouraged to participate in whatever way they feel comfortable, whether that means sharing experiences, asking questions, listening, or joining the discussion. Most importantly, please remember that respect is the foundation of this group. Everyone who attends should feel comfortable sharing and participating without fear of ridicule or hostility. Open mindedness, kindness, and respectful discussion are expected from all attendees. Looking forward to meeting everyone this Saturday!

AI, Art and Media - StrangeNew.World @ 310 Coffee
Fri, Jun 5, 10:00 PMWe are a community of **artists, thinkers, technicians, and curious minds** from all walks of life exploring how technology can serve human flourishing in 2026! Whether if you're an AI enthusiast or skeptic, a creative professional or someone just beginning to navigate our rapidly changing world, this group is for you! The conversations we have at our **“support group for the technological singularity”** are designed to meet everyone at their level of understanding - no technical background required, just an open mind and genuine curiosity about our collective future. How do we preserve community, creativity, connection, and purpose in this new age? Our focus for 2026 is to build out our community into somewhere between a participatory lab, an art salon and a social group. So we will be talking about and experimenting with LLMs, vibe coding and AI generated imagery and sound. We discuss the ethical and cultural implications of this new powerful set of tools as well as trade tips, discuss use cases and share workflows for getting the most out of this new era. We are also open to discussing anything relating to technology, culture, and the arts. Our meetings have a super casual and open atmosphere where all are welcome to contribute. Feel free to come late or leave early. And I will (as always) be encouraging people to create art and will be translating for non-geeks. So, no matter if you love technology, or if you think it is destroying the very fabric of our society, or if you are just starting to experiment with AI to help better market yourself or your business, we would love to help get you started and/or learn more about your experiences. **Here is a list of the typical topics…** **AI in Media** * Deepfakes, propaganda and the future of media * AI ethics and copyright law * Will AI destroy Hollywood or save it? * Accessibility and story telling **For the Creators (new media and old)** * Discuss releases of AI tools and services * Tips and techniques for prompting * Voicing and animating your characters * Editing and the AI visual effects revolution * Combining traditional filmmaking with AI * How to go viral, fund raising, and SMM **For the Haters (who are welcome)** * Is using AI cheating, where is the line? * Is AI art soulless? What gives art a soul? * How will younger people learn w/o “putting in the work” * How to us AI ethically **AI for Social Change** * The changing job market. What skills will matter in 10 years? * Demonization of knowledge and resources * The 2nd Cognitive Revolution, emergent intelligence * A new age of inhuman efficiency * Unemployment, UBI and the future of “work”

From Months to Days: How AI Is Rewriting Commercial Production
Fri, Jun 5, 3:15 PMJoin us for a behind-the-scenes look at how AI is transforming commercial production—and what it takes to build creative systems that actually perform. Jethro Rothe-Kushel is the Founder & CEO of Ritual Ads, a studio using AI to take brands from concept to finished commercial in days—not months—while improving performance through rapid iteration and real-time analytics. After more than 20 years producing major campaigns for brands like Google, Apple, and Amazon, Jethro saw firsthand how slow, expensive, and inefficient traditional production could be. Instead of accepting that model, he built something different. At Ritual Ads, the commercial production process is reimagined end-to-end—using AI to move from storyboard to finished spot in days, not months, while enabling faster iteration, real-time testing, and stronger performance. In this session, Jethro will break down how this approach works in practice, including: * How AI is compressing the timeline of commercial production * Why more iteration leads to better creative outcomes * What a modern “creative + performance” stack actually looks like * Lessons learned building and scaling a system designed for speed, consistency, and results This is a practical, real-world look at how advertising is evolving—and what builders, marketers, creatives, operators, and investors need to understand to stay ahead. *** ### **About the Speaker** Jethro Rothe-Kushel is the Founder & CEO of Ritual Ads, a studio using AI to take brands from concept to finished commercial with speed, precision, and measurable performance. He brings over 20 years of experience across film, television, and advertising, having produced major campaigns for leading brands including Apple, Netflix, American Express, Google, and Amazon. He is a former VP of the Producers Guild of America, representing thousands of top producers nationwide. Earlier in his career, Jethro documented the lives of people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles—work that contributed to major public funding efforts and long-term housing initiatives. That experience continues to inform his belief in storytelling as a force for real-world change. Today, he leads Ritual Ads at the intersection of AI and storytelling, helping brands move faster while staying authentic and effective. *** **Networking** Come early to connect with fellow founders, technologists, creatives, and community members. Friday Coffee Meetup is as much about the people in the room as it is about the conversation on stage.
