Downey Library Game Day

Come play board games and card games with us at the Downey Library. We welcome starting players all the way to expert players. Please bring a copy of the games you would like to play, or we have copies to play. The Downey Public Library also has a collection of games to play. Some examples of popular board games are Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan, and Terraforming Mars. Some examples of popular card games are Flip 7, Century Spice Road, and Splendor. We like to learn new games and to teach new games. There is no fee, and food and drink is welcome, just please clean up after yourself. We are in the area, to the left of the main entrance. Note that there are no parking restrictions on the weekend or holidays; please respect the Embassy Suites reserved parking. Hosted by Mark Shocklee.

🎲 Bring Your Own Board Game (optional) and jacket 🧥! Come hang out, meet great people, and enjoy a chill board game night at Namiko Studio Cafe ✨ Whether you’re a serious board gamer or just here for the vibes, everyone is welcome — even your 🐶💛. Part of the night we’ll be using their outside tables, and it gets pretty chilly, so please bring a really warm 🧥 jacket. We’ll have some games available, but feel free to bring a favorite you'd like to share! ✨ We’re grateful to this café for letting us use their space. To keep this event free we kindly ask that all participants **purchase a drink or snack during the event.** Most importantly, bring positive energy ✨ and **be** **respectful and kind**, so that everyone can have a fun and comfortable time together 🌿💫 **IMPORTANT:** * The **cafe closes at 7:30pm** but they are keeping the secret garden in the back open for us until 10:00pm. If you are coming to the event **after 7:30pm the front door will be locked and you will need to enter through the brown gate in the back** parking lot. You can find it by driving into the alley on N Edinburgh Ave and making a left into the black iron gate, then you will see the brown wooden gate. * **No outside food or drinks** are allowed**.** **PARKING:** * There are three free spots on N Edinburgh Ave. Make sure to always read the signs! * There is plenty of metered parking, free after 8:00 pm. * You are also able to park in the gym spots in the back parking lot after 7:30pm only (the gym closes at 7:30 pm).

Welcome back to our weekly Wednesday board game hang (previously as Nightcap Collective)! These gatherings exist to help you meet new people while doing something fun.
