**Hello Fellow NYC TAOP Members** Mark your calendars--the Tall Ships are coming to NY Harbor, and it's shaping up to be the photo event of the decade. From July 3-8, 2026, Sail4th 250 will bring the largest-ever international flotilla of tall ships to NYC for America's 250th birthday, with 50+ majestic vessels from 30+ nations joining U.S. and allied naval ships in the harbor. The festivities kick off Friday, July 3 with a Parade of Class B Tall Ships down the East River, followed by the main event on Saturday, July 4--the international Parade of Sail beginning at 9:30 am. From July 5-8, the ships will be docked across the harbor (South Street Seaport, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Governors Island, and Hudson River piers) and open for free public visitation. **Link:** [Schedule | Sail 4th 250](https://sail4th.org/schedule) **Please Note:** We will **not** be meeting as a group for these events.

An Afternoon in Prospect Park

An Afternoon in Prospect Park

Our Meetup hasn’t visited Prospect Park in Brooklyn since 2015 so I believe it’s time to take a stroll again around this beautiful park. *Prospect Park isn’t just a park—it’s Brooklyn’s backyard. Designed by Olmsted and Vaux, the same landscape legends behind Central Park, this 526-acre green giant is where the borough comes to breathe, play, and reset. You’ve got it all here: wide-open fields like the Long Meadow for naps, frisbees, and weekend hangs; a 60-acre lake for paddle boating and peaceful views; and Brooklyn’s only fores**t** if you’re in the mood to wander and escape the city noise.* **Date: Saturday June 27th Time: 1:00 pm** **We will be meeting under the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Arch at the Grand Army Plaza at 1 pm sharp! The closest subway stations are:** **2, 3, 4 @ Grand Army Plaza** **B, Q, @ 7th Avenue** **2, 3, 4 @ Eastern Parkway - Brooklyn Museum** We can enjoy most that this park has to offer on a nice long wander around woodlands and the lake, take photos of whatever catches our inspiration and finally leave the park at Bartel-Pritchard Square where we can hopefully find snacks and beverages perhaps at the Double Windsor, a well reviewed funky beer and burger bar. There is a subway station also at this location with the F and G trains to get back to Manhattan. Any and all cameras from professional models to cell phones are welcome at our events. Folks at all levels of expertise are also welcome. General purpose zoom lenses are suggested but longer lenses and macro lenses might also be useful. Please be on time! The NYC Subway System is a hellscape of unimaginable delays that will wreak havoc on your mind, body, schedule, and soul. Plan your trip with some extra time! The **“MyMTA”** app is highly recommended on weekends. * Charge your batteries and format your memory cards. Check that both are in your cameras. * Get your gear ready. Make sure your lenses are clean. Pack your batteries, memory cards, camera, and whatever else you need. (Water is always a good idea!) Details of this event may be added or changed at any time, so please check in periodically on this page. Cellular phone numbers are private and will not be provided. If you have questions, please leave them in the comments below BEFORE the event begins. It is difficult to monitor the phone after we start shooting. *Disclaimer: Participation in these events requires that you assume all risks associated with these activities and that the Organizers, Co-Organizers, and Event Hosts are in no way liable for any tickets/summons, loss, theft, damage, illness or injury as a result of your participation. Our preferences in art reveal more about us than we often realize. Long before personality traits were formally categorized, psychologists studied personality differences through individuals' ratings of various paintings. If you find yourself drawn to the same piece of artwork, there's a strong chance you share a deep connection. Meet in the museum for an excursion. Sign up on [favr.town](https://favr.town/) and predict your next art buddy before you meet. Find out if you're right when you meet onsite. Or, if you fancy other museums, pin them at times that work for you on [favr.town](https://favr.town/) and discover who you might meet there. Note: This is a [Favr.town](http://favr.town/) member exclusive event. [Join](https://favr.town/events/meet-and-shop-trader-joes-trader-joes-2026-06-15-17-00) [[https://favr.town](https://favr.town/) ] Hint: Fans of abstract art tend to be creative, pop art lovers are often optimistic, impressionism enthusiasts are more likely to be conscientious, and those who prefer traditional art tend to be, well, more traditional. Something extra: Why do these traits matter? See how [optimism](https://favr.town/blog/the-power-of-optimism-in-relationships-how-a-positive-outlook-strengthens-resilience-emotional-health-and-lasting-love-2025-11-20), [conscientiousness](https://favr.town/blog/how-responsibility-and-reliability-build-trust-and-lasting-love-2026-04-19), [traditional values](https://favr.town/blog/prioritizing-family-values-for-lasting-commitment-and-love-2025-12-17), and [excitement](https://favr.town/blog/how-novelty-play-and-shared-adventure-keep-love-alive-2025-12-14) influence relationships. You can also measure how your sense of [optimism](https://app.favr.town/we?t=1&s=1&b=OPTIMISTIC), [conscientiousness](https://app.favr.town/we?t=1&s=2&b=CONSCIENTIOUS), [traditional values](https://app.favr.town/we?t=1&s=2&b=TRADITIONAL), and [excitement](https://app.favr.town/we?t=1&s=2&b=EXCITING) stack up against others.
