Climb/R (NJ Climbing Meetup)

Climb/R (NJ Climbing Meetup)

Tue, Jul 14, 10:30 PM
From Climb/R (NJ Climbing partner meetup at Goat!)
4.9

Looking to meet a new climbing community? Maybe you've just moved and would like to meet some new climbing partners? Or you are new to the community and sport and would like to meet up with some new friends! Every Tuesday we have a very psyched community leader to introduce climbers to our community and to each other! Many of the regulars to this meetup (8+) don't bother signing up, but you will see them climbing and chatting at the meetup. Parking on Hackensack streets is free after 6 pm, so don't be discouraged if the Goat parking lot is full, which is often. Please inform the front desk that you are here for the meetup to receive the $18(no rentals) or $21(shoes and harness included) discounted day pass! Top Rope belay and Lead belay checks are free, and provided by the Goat staff team. All experience levels welcome.

Friday evening climb in Bushwick (+ drinks @ KCBC)

Friday evening climb in Bushwick (+ drinks @ KCBC)

Fri, Aug 28, 11:00 PM
From Rock Climb + Chill in Brooklyn
4.9

\*\* Make sure you **DO RSVP to the Meetup event** for the special entrance price \*\* Come get your climb on in Bushwick! Whether you've never climbed or you're a pro, whether you want to boulder, top-rope, or (maybe) lead, we'll partner up and climb some walls. MetroRock Bushwick is pretty evenly split between bouldering and rope climbing, so we'll form groups based on climbing preferences, and who's belay- and/or lead-certified, or willing to get certified. This event is open to all skill levels, but please note that teaching belay techniques is not permitted at MetroRock outside of a scheduled class. If you plan to take the belay test, please make sure your skills are up to speed before you arrive. If it's your first time at MetroRock, try to get there a few minutes early to allow for registration and signing the waiver. For those who wish to join, at around 9pm we will pop over to [Kings County Brewers Collective](https://www.kcbcbeer.com/), a few blocks away, for a quick drink. **Agenda:** * 6:50pm: Arrive at MetroRock, check-in at front desk and sign waiver if necessary * 7pm: Meet the other attendees in the area to the right of the front desk * 7:15pm: Form pairs (or groups of 3) and move into the gym to start climbing. * 9pm: Meet at the front desk again, and head out together to the brewery. **More info about MetroRock:** [https://bushwick.metrorock.com/bushwick-home](https://bushwick.metrorock.com/bushwick-home) Special deal for Rock Climb + Chill event attendees: **$23 entrance fee** with **gear rental included** (save $21 compared to the regular $32 day pass + $12 gear rental). Just let the front desk staff know you're there for the Meetup.

Banff Hut to Hut Glacier Backpacking and Hiking

Banff Hut to Hut Glacier Backpacking and Hiking

Sun, Jul 26, 11:00 AM
From Explorer Chicks of NYC
4.4

Join us on a Banff Canada Hiking + Hut-to-Hut Backpacking Adventure for women only! During your 6-day trip, backpack hut-to-hut in the remote backcountry of Banff National Park. Enjoy day hikes through the towering mountains and glacier fed lakes of the Canadian Rockies. This is not the maple syrup harvest your aunt went to that one time. This is Wild Canada, sister! **GUIDED HIKING IN BANFF, CANADA NATIONAL PARKS** First, spend three days hiking in and exploring nearby national and provincial parks. The town of Banff is surrounded on all sides by them, boasting some of the most beautiful landscapes that Canada offers. Experience the iconic hiking trails in the surrounding parks, the atmosphere of the quaint mountain town, and the quiet backcountry bliss amongst flanneled femmes. Day-hike to turquoise glacier fed lakes, past waterfalls, along pointed mountain ridge lines, and through luscious green valleys. Snap an iconic photo by Moraine Lake to add to your Instagram feed. You’ll feel as if you’re in a fairy tale admiring the chateau from Lake Louise. Also enjoy exploring lesser known trails as our local guides share their favorites hikes. You could be hiking to glacier fed lakes in Banff National Park, past stunning waterfalls in Yoho National Park, up and over a mountain pass in Kananaskis Country and more. **EXPLORING DOWNTOWN BANFF** Each evening, we’ll return to our downtown Banff hotel, roll on some deodorant, and head out on the town to dine as a group. In your free time, soak your beautiful bones in one of the outdoor hot tubs or curl up cat-like beside the outdoor fireplace. Buzzed storytelling is encouraged. **CANADIAN ROCKIES HUT-TO-HUT GUIDED BACKPACKING AND GLACIER CROSSING** On the final three days of your adventure, we leave behind the hustle and noise of Banff and its tourists. Load up a 70L backpack with glacier crossing gear and all of the essentials for a hut-to-hut trek across the Wapta Icefields of the Canadian Rockies. The Icefields are rolling, gentle glaciers that you will trek up and over during the course of three days. Experience first hand a rapidly disappearing mountain landscape while immersing yourself in a truly remote and unique, backcountry environment. Your destination each evening is rustic, remote alpine huts high up in mountains. There aren’t many backcountry treks that you can get the alpine trifecta—glaciers, mountains, and cozy alpine huts! **ALL MAJOR BACKPACKING AND GLACIER CROSSING GEAR PROVIDED** * 70L backpack * sleeping bag * mountaineering boots * climbing harness * climbing helmet * crampons * ice axe * ropes **See the website for full itinerary, details and to book.** [https://explorerchick.com/adventures/banff-hut-to-hut-hiking-adventure/](https://explorerchick.com/adventures/banff-hut-to-hut-hiking-adventure/) **Say Hello 👋** **💻** Website: [https://explorerchick.com/](https://explorerchick.com/) 📧 Email: [hello@explorerchick.com](http://hello@explorerchick.com/) 📸 Instagram: [https://www.instagram.com/explorerchickadventureco/](https://www.instagram.com/explorerchickadventureco/) ❤️ Facebook: [https://www.facebook.com/ExplorerChickAdventureCo/](https://www.facebook.com/ExplorerChickAdventureCo/) 👯‍♀️ Facebook Group: [https://www.facebook.com/groups/weareexplorerchick](https://www.facebook.com/groups/weareexplorerchick) 🎥 TikTok: [https://www.tiktok.com/@explorerchick](https://www.tiktok.com/@explorerchick)
