Advanced Level Paddlers - Liberty to Freedom Swim Support - 13 mile round trip
Sat, Sep 19, 12:50 PM\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* **Timeline will probably change +/- 15-45 min at the start and end. We are still planning the swim. Please be flexible** \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* **Swim support - Advanced Level - 13 mile round trip** Our original and biggest swim support! We will be guiding swimmers from the WTC to Liberty Island. Right after we'll do a second round with another set of swimmers from Liberty Island to WTC. That means we will paddle for 11.5 miles without landing! 4.5 miles of this paddle will be just you paddling alone and guiding your swimmer across the Hudson River. **PREREQUISITES TO RSVP:** 1. You received an invitation to join by host or Urban Swim. Host will review prerequisites and experience with paddlers individually **COME PREPARED:** * Lots of Water * Snacks and food * Your Urban Swim shirt if you have one * Sunscreen * Hat * Change of clothes * Anything else you may need to spend 8 hours outside under the sun **TIMELINE** **Leg 1 - 3.5 miles - Paddle to South Cove** * 8:50 AM - Meet at the boathouse, get equipment ready * ***9:05 AM - Please arrive no later than this time. Hopefully earlier!!*** * 9:10 AM - safety briefing * 9:30 AM - boats on beach * 9:45 AM - stretch * 9:50 AM - depart * 10:50 AM - arrive at South Cove * 11:06 AM - meet your swimmer **Leg 2 - 2.25 miles - Swim support** * 11:18 AM - swim starts. Follow lead kayaker/power boat and directions from radio * 12:12 PM - swim ends. wait for everyone to finish by pre determined buoy **Leg 3 - 2.25 miles - Second round of Swim Support** * 12:18 PM - meet your swimmer * 12:28 PM - swim starts. Follow lead kayaker/power boat and directions from radio * 1:19 PM - swim ends. wait for everyone to finish by pre determined buoy **Leg 4 - 3.5 - Return paddle & break if we really need it** * 1:25 PM - begin trip back * 1:40 PM - Possible short break at DTBH (we will do our best not to break) * 2:10 PM - Depart DTBH * 3:00 PM - Arrive at HCCB * 3:15 PM clean and put away boats/equipment * 4:15 PM - trip ends. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* **NOAA predicted current at Hudson River Entrance** 5:25 AM - Slack 9:30 AM - Max Ebb \~1.34 knots 12:.53 PM - Slack 3:34 PM - Max Flood \~1.11 knots

Queer Out: Free Kayaking Meetup(Last of the Season)
Sun, Sep 27, 2:00 PM**Join us for another Queer Out: Fun & Free Social Adventure!** **Pier 26 offers free Kayaking. It's a fun time!** **\*\*Rain or Shine\*\*** **There are locker & changing rooms onsite. Wear sunscreen and clothes or bathing suit you don't mind getting a little wet.** **Boats are Solo & Doubles.** **Check out full details : [https://www.downtownboathouse.org](https://www.downtownboathouse.org)** **As with all Queer Outs this is a free meetup to get you out, connecting to Community and hopefully having some fun.** **I will be passing out Pink Beads to guests checking in with me.** **There is space to hang out on the pier & repeat boating sessions if you get back in line.** **Optional walk to the Little Islands and lunch places to eat/continue socializing.**

Elite Trip - Circumnavigation of Manhattan - 31 miles
Sat, Sep 26, 8:00 PM**We'll paddle around the entire island of Manhattan.** It'll take 10 hours, we'll travel 30+ miles, on 3 rivers, and under 21 bridges! This will be an amazing, yet a very challenging trip. You must be able to paddle at least 3 knots per hour for the 9+ hours. **PREREQUISITES TO RSVP:** 1. volunteered at least 4 shifts in 2026 AND 2. Completed 2 advanced trips in 2026 (or 1 advanced and 2 intermediate ) AND 3. You have proven that you can paddle 1 mile (including turns) in under 15 minutes in the craft you are planning to paddle AND 4. You can self rescue in 90 seconds or less **CRAFT:** * Sit on top - not allowed * Sea Kayak - Level 3 * OC1/OC2 - not allowed. You may join Ke Aloha's circ the same day! * SUP - only if completed 10+ mile round trip in 2025 with us * Surfski - only if completed 10+ mile round trip in 2025 with us **COME PREPARED:** * Clothing appropriate for water temperature. * Change of clothes * Extra layers for when we stop. You will be cold * THREE white waterproof lights. And lots of others if you like! * Water in a reusable bottle. So much water * Lots of food * Anything else you may need to spend 12 hours on the water **TIMELINE:** Detailed timeline will be provided by trip leader to each participant once approved by host

This program exists only because of you! We can always use the help. No experience is necessary to volunteer.
