Hike in a forest: Zum Teufelsbruch

Hi everyone! Hiking season is already in full swing, and with the end of May likely to be quite warm, I thought it would be a good idea to head into the forest. This time, we’ll be hiking in Teufelsbruch, near Hennigsdorf in Brandenburg, north of Berlin. We’ll meet on Sunday, May 31st, at 10:00 am at Friedrichstraße station, on the lower platform for the S1, S2, and S25 lines. From there, we’ll take the S25 towards Hennigsdorf, change to a bus, and continue to Nieder Neuendorf. The journey should take around 45 minutes, and that’s where our hike will begin. Our route will follow the banks of the Havel River until we reach Bürgerablage, a public beach area (though we won’t be swimming). From there, we’ll head into the forest and continue towards Teufelsbruch, a beautiful moorland area. We can visit a tower of the former Berlin Wall. We’ll then make our way towards Rohpfuhl, another moor, walk roughly around it, and finally return to Nieder Neuendorf. From there, we’ll take the bus back to Hennigsdorf and then the train back to Berlin. The hike is a bit longer than usual — around 16 km — and will take approximately 4 hours. Please make sure you have an ABC ticket for public transport, and remember to bring enough water, snacks, and food. We’ll make a short break along the way to eat and rest. I’ll be wearing a pink cap, so look out for a tall man in a pink cap standing near the escalators. This is a straight-friendly event, so everyone is welcome. Check out our IG: @queerhikesberlin

Join us for a day trip to the Harz Mountains as we hike the famous **Liebesbankweg**, ride a cable car to the summit, and speed down the mountain! * **Liebesbankweg Hike:** A beautiful 7-kilometer premium circular hiking trail looping around the Bocksberg summit. My name is Maroof, and I’ve been practicing calisthenics for the last 4 years. I love this sport because I’m fascinated by the incredible movements the human body can achieve, and I believe calisthenics connects people, builds communities, and is one of the most sociable forms of fitness out there. In this class, we’ll cover the fundamentals like push-ups, squats, and core exercises, and also dive into the basics of more advanced movements such as the planche, front lever, back lever, and freestyle calisthenics, all in a fun, supportive environment where you can progress at your own pace. \*\*No experience needed, just bring comfortable clothes, some water, and a positive attitude. \*\* **Price:** Free. From Wannsee to Weinfest (15 km hike)

Villa Jacobs is one of the more hidden and special places in Potsdam. Located close to the Jungfernsee, it is surrounded by a historic park designed by Peter Joseph Lenné, which is today part of the UNESCO World Heritage area. On this weekend, the park of Villa Jacobs opens its gates for the [Weinfest im Park der Villa Jacobs](https://www.potsdam.de/de/veranstaltung/weinfest-im-park-der-villa-jacobs-open-air). There will be wine from the Villa Jacobs vineyard, Mosel wines, small snacks, and the possibility to enjoy the park, the orchard, the linden grove and the view towards the Jungfernsee. So, let's use this opportunity and hike there from Wannsee! We'll meet in front of Bahnhof Wannsee at 10:45. From there, we will start walking along the Teltowkanal and continue towards Griebnitzsee. We will then walk through the area around Glienicke and cross the famous Glienicker Brücke, the historic bridge connecting Berlin and Potsdam. From there, we continue towards Villa Jacobs, where we should arrive around 15:00. After the hike, you will have the optional possibility to visit the Weinfest in the park of Villa Jacobs. The entrance is free. Important things to note: * Be prepared. Expect muddy grounds, a lot of sun, mosquitoes, businesses accepting cash only. * You are all responsible for yourself. None of us is mountain guide or something like that.

Cylce & swim - Grimnitz- and Parsteiner See

========== FACTS ========== ROUTE: Althenhof > Grimnitzsee > Wolletz > Angermünde > Parsteiner See > Chorin LEVEL: Intermediate to Experienced DISTANCE: 50ish kms MEETING POINT: 08:20 - Berlin Ostkreuz ========== FACTS ========== ========= DETAILS ========= **ROUTE:** This is the start of the swimming season (at least for me). Once we arrived in Altenhof we head downhill to the Lake Grimnitzsee for a first swim. After the refreshment we head further up nprth on mixed grou before we reach Glambeck, a very scenic little village. From there it is solig ground only to Wolletz where we stop at the Kaffee Konsum for a delicious Wildboar Burger, or more. From there we have the chance to either head on solid ground alongside more boring nature of straight through the forrest on such ground. Passing through Angermünde we head further down south via Herzsprung before we reach the Parsteiner See. One of the clearest lakes I know (and my personal favourite, but psst…). After the second swim we then head around the lake and stop for a last sip of coffee (and hopefully cake) at the Hofladen Brodowin, where even Kind Charles has been. From there its just \~7km to the train station Chorin where we hop into the train which brings us back to Berlin. **SPEED:** Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front. This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat." **DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:** This is an about 50ish km ride, with mainly mixed and soft but also some solid ground. In general: Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Road bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me! And if you want to bring Kids or Animals please get in touch before! **MEETING POINT:** 08:20 - Berlin Ostkreuz, in the train RB24 on platform 14. I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike. But you can hop in at any other station if you want (and dare). **TICKET:** It is 23,60 both ways / person, so this time it does make much sense to organise a BBT. I will get one if at least one other person wants to join me! And don't forget your "[24-hour ticket bicycle VBB network](https://www.vbb.de/en/tickets/tickets-for-your-bicycle/24-hour-ticket-bicycle/)" ticket which is about 7,50 EUR. **WAY OUT:** 08:41 - dep. Berlin Ostkreuz, platform 14, taking RB24 to Eberswalde 09:27 - arr. Eberswalde, platform 2, switching trains 09:37 - dep. Eberswalde, RB63, platform 4, 09:55 - arr. Altenhof **WAY BACK:** 18:43 - dep. Chorin, RE3 19:07 - arr. Bernau, switching trains to S2 19:23 - dep. Bernau, S2 20:06 - arr. Yorckstraße (S2) **RECOMMENDATIONS:** Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling. While we'll stop somewhere for a lunch and/or coffee please always bring your snacks but especially some drinks along! And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work? Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube to fix a flat tyre a big plus! While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you! Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it. And in case you need special medical treatment please make me aware of that upfront. We take a walk in Berlin to meet new people or people we already know 😁 It's a way to spend a few hours together on a Sunday afternoon. **How it works?** The concept is very simple: * We meet at Sonnenallee Station at 14,15 o'clock (we use the Whatsapp Chat to find each other: I will post there my exact location outside the station) * I wait for people for 10 minutes, till 14,25, then we start to walk direction Treptower Park, crossing the park 🌳🌳🌳 and going along the Spree river, to then go further * We go on along the Landwehrkanal, exploring Kreuzberg 🏠 * The total length of the walk is about 8kms * We land finally here to take coffee, a drink, or some food, and spend more time together ([https://maps.app.goo.gl/RsUCxwDKK6yVtiF48](https://maps.app.goo.gl/RsUCxwDKK6yVtiF48)) I consider that the event will last in overall around 4 hours (2 hours of walk 🚶🚶‍♀️ and 2 hours at the Cafe/Restaurant), but people are free to stay together longer, if they want 🙂 What I provide is leading the walk and the people at the Cafe, but I do not force anyone to stay shorter or longer.
