Museum + Hike (from Mitte to Mühlenbeck-Mönchmühle)

Museum + Hike (from Mitte to Mühlenbeck-Mönchmühle)

Sun, Jul 19, 8:00 AM
From Playful Berlin: Hikes & Activities for Human Connection
4.9

We meet in front of Mitte Museum (Pankstraße 47) and visit the museum for an hour. They have two temporary exhibitions at the moment ([Ausstellungen - Mittemuseum](https://www.mittemuseum.de/de/ausstellungen)). Those who want to do only the hike can join an hour later. Having visited the museum, we follow the Panke to the Bürgerpark Pankow. From there we head to the Volkspark Schönholzer Heide and the Park am Wilhelmsruher See. After a break in the park or in one of the cafés nearby, we follow the railway tracks at the Edge of the Märkisches Viertel, that take us out of the city through fields and woods before reaching Mühlenbeck-Mönchmühle S-Bahn station. If you need to contact other participants during the hike (for example, to find out where to meet us if you are running late), please use the Signal group link that I will send to all participants via private message few hours before the hike. This timing is intended to prevent non-participants from misusing the link for unwanted advertising, which has happened in the past. Signal allows us to share our locations during the hike without involuntarily forwarding this information to the intelligence services of authoritarian or non-authoritarian states, but unfortunately the location sharing function does not include tracking, i.e. no continuous updates. For all other purposes, especially socialising and posting photos, please use the Telegram subgroup 'Event Chat & Photos': https://t.me/+8-_rnJBuabBkNjI0 . The hike will take place if at least 6 people sign up. As long as there are more than 6 people, you can sign up and cancel as many times as you like. If there are 6 or less people, please avoid cancelling, as this might make the other participants feel insecure about whether the hike will take place (or whether there is something wrong with the hike and they should cancel as well --> [Matthew effect - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_effect)). If there are less than 6 participants, the hike will also take place unless the majority of the participants are in favor of canceling the hike.

Beautiful hike, swim and magical views 🌻

Beautiful hike, swim and magical views 🌻

Sat, Jul 18, 8:30 AM
From The Gathering Grounds 🌱❤️

Hey guys! Our first event! Join us on a beautiful hike, we'll be meeting at S Bahnhof Wansee and taking the old historical bus (BVG) to Pfaueninsel. ( it's a real experience 🚌) From there we'll be walking along the water, taking swims along the way, and seeing very impressive architecture. We'll be passing 2 very beautiful castles, lots of old ruins, some fountains and a really pretty bridge. (.... And probably a lot more just waiting to be discovered.) All of it surrounded by water, making it easy to take a dip. 💦 There are lots of places to swim and have picnics on the way. Our end distination is Schloss Cecilienhof. Right next to that there is the Meierei, where they brew their own beer. Cheers to a perfect day! 🍺 🥂 🎈🍻 The hike takes a round 2-3 hours, not including the swimming and chilling part. On the way there are bus stops if you are wanting to cut it short ✂️ 🤔 Please keep the picnics plant-based 🌱 Please be on time - our bus should depart at 10:50. We will wait for no one 🐌 It's all about making connections, meeting like minded people and having a wonderful time! 🥳 Come as you are! Or you will be missed! Bring 🌻 a picnic, water and a swimming costume...

2 EURO DONATION FEE PER PERSON IS REQUIRED (on site, in cash), to pay back the Meetup subscription fees and support my Events. READ THE DESCRIPTION WITH THE INFO (IMPORTANT). WHATSAPP LINK BELOW 📳 We take the HBX train that departs from Berlin Gesundbrunnen at 07,02 AM and arrives to Ilsenburg at 10,29 🚉😀 The train is available also in Lichtenberg, Wannsee and Potsdam. I attach the screenshot with all the stations. The train is Deutschland Ticket valid. Once in Ilsenburg station, we take a local bus to save a bit of walking (since the actual Hike will be already very long 😆💯). I attach the screenshot of this bus connection, here the website of the local buses (note: these connections are not present on Google Maps) 🚏: https://www.insa.de/ We then start our Hike and this is the path 🚶‍♀️🚶 The Brocken Mountain is the highest peak in northern Germany ⛰️ with an elevation of 1,142 meters https://www.komoot.com/tour/2936906879 Bring your own food 🍔 and drinks 🥤, we will take breaks where we deem appropriate. IMPORTANT: please consider that the Hike is 24kms with 860 meters of elevation difference, come only if you know that you are physically fit 😊 People who do not want/can make the whole Hike can join and decide to come back earlier without making the whole route 😊 INFO ℹ️ℹ️ Route distance: 24 kms Elevation difference: 860 meters up and 860 meters down (it is a loop) Breaks ⛔: When and where we deem appropriate. On the way back it seems there are no local buses, in the late afternoon, from Parkplatz Ilsenburg Brockenwanderung to the station, so maybe we should walk 2 kms more. A direct train to come back from Ilsenburg to Berlin is available at 17,31 (HBX), but maybe (or even probably) it will be too early for us. Other connections are anyway available, changing train in Magdeburg 🚉 If you have to contact me, make it via Whatsapp, not here on Meetup. WHATSAPP COMMUNITY 💬 to find each other (join it, we use this group to find and synchronize us, as well as post photos) [https://docs.google.com/document/d/157uLVXObKt1a4NqqvPa09NJW-050YBwHLW-7DbOD8R8/](https://docs.google.com/document/d/157uLVXObKt1a4NqqvPa09NJW-050YBwHLW-7DbOD8R8/)

Evening Walk at Treptower Park – After Work Pilgrims

Evening Walk at Treptower Park – After Work Pilgrims

Wed, Jul 22, 4:00 PM
From Berlin Pilgrims
4.9

**After Work Pilgrims: Walk with intention.** Berlin is demanding, and the day was long. And somewhere between finishing work and the night, there's a moment where we just need to breathe. That's what After Work Pilgrims is for. We walk together through the city – through parks in the middle of all the concrete – with intention. Just a few kilometres on foot: with silence, a short reflection, and good company. It's more than a walk. But it doesn't feel like it. Duration: approx\. 2 hours \| Distance: 4–7 km \| Free No experience needed. Comfortable shoes recommended. Come as you are. *** 📅 Wed, July 22, 6:00 PM 📍 Treptower Park (Meeting point: Fahrradständer am S-Bahnhof Treptower Park, [https://maps.app.goo.gl/geKw4mAfefppZAcC8](https://maps.app.goo.gl/geKw4mAfefppZAcC8)) 📩 You’re welcome to join our [WhatsApp group](https://www.alexander-steinfeldt.de/hikes/berlin-pilgrims/) for updates and connection before the hike. 🧭 Pilgrim Guide Alex (Mail alexander.steinfeldt@outlook.com or WhatsApp +49 157 57652601) \-\-\- **Waitlist = You're in! 😊** Currently, only 10 members can officially register on Meetup (due to the restrictions of the free version). However, you’re welcome to join the hike by joining the [Whatsapp group](https://www.alexander-steinfeldt.de/hikes/berlin-pilgrims/) for this event.
