Roaming Precita and the Parks

I've always been fond of Precita Park, and now that it has a new bathroom, there is even more reason to spend time there. You may not be able to name the other four parks nearby that we can visit on a Friday roam, but we will go and investigate them, on either side of Precita Creek, which lies buried under what is currently Cesar Chavez Street. We will do a bit of climbing on this one, part way up the north side of Bernal, and we will spend some of it in earshot of the freeway, though other parts will be very peaceful. *Bringing water, snacks, and layers for all the microclimates is the way to go.* *These roams are offered by donation. They are one way I am able to pay my rent in San Francisco.* *Punctuality is always appreciated, for the sake of everybody's time. Please send a message on the app before the start if you are running late, and we will either wait (up to ten minutes) of I will direct you on how to catch up. Once we get underway I have to focus on those who are there, and most likely won't respond.* *Generally half the people who sign up don't actually show up on the day. I do track flakiness and remove people who have a poor attendance record. It is discourteous to those on the waitlist who would like to attend.* *Sending me a message explaining that you can't make it is always appreciated.*

Task Tackling Admin Night

Don't let that list of to-dos keep piling up; get stuff done in the company of others at admin night. Invite a friend or meet someone new and we'll motivate each other to accomplish those small or big chores we've been putting off. Bring a phone or laptop and organize your inbox, pay bills, clean your calendar, plan that trip, or delete those unattractive selfies. Get a new library card or renew your account and learn about library resources. Light snacks and drinks offered at admin nights in the library and drinks and food available for purchase at partner locations. Meets the second Wednesday of the month. **This program takes place in the Jobs and Career Center - 4th Floor of the Main Library.**

Online Spanish Bilingual SF Toastmasters Weekly Meeting

During the Shelter in Place, we will be celebrating meetings through Zoom. You can submit your request to attend here or on our website. Join us every Thursday for this unique Toastmasters meeting in two languages! Every meeting is two meetings in one: an English segment, followed by a Spanish segment. Each segment is approximately 30-45 minutes, or 90 minutes total, adjourning promptly at 8:00pm. Each segment includes: * 1-2 prepared speeches (5-7 minutes) * Formal speech evaluations (2-3 minutes) * Impromptu speaking opportunities (Table Topics, 2-3 minutes) * Reports: Grammarian, Ah Counter, Timer (1-3 minutes) * After meetings, many of us go to a nearby restaurant for food and drinks. Speakers get candid, constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement. We will also practice answering impromptu questions during the Table Topics section of our meeting. Ever been tongue-tied when your boss asked you a question in a meeting? Table topics is a great way to practice the skills of thinking and speaking on the fly. Great conversations happen after the meeting too! Join members for breakfast after the meeting, if you have the time.
