Every day, pigeons in San Francisco suffer from a hidden danger: string, fishing line, hair, and other debris that wrap tightly around their toes and feet, causing immense pain, infections, and sometimes the loss of entire limbs. During this event, we'll teach you how to safely spot, catch, and help these incredible birds before releasing them back to their families and flocks. We'll also be carrying food and toys to share with companion animals belonging to our unhoused neighbors because compassion doesn't stop with one species. DiscoverSF -- Road to Nihonmachi Fair, Japantown

Think of road to Hana. Japantown's **Nihonmachi Street Fair** turns 52 this year, beyond the usual Japan culture shows, this fair also includes the **pan-asian** programs, like Hawaiian dances, Chinese culture, Filipino and Korean performances etc.. The attendance is said to be around **50k** per year, on par with Fillmore Jazz Festival. [https://www.nihonmachistreetfair.org/](https://www.nihonmachistreetfair.org/) By our experience of organizing festival and parade events in SF for the past half year, we did notice that people prefer more interactions and connections. So we design this event to optimize that -- a **scenic** city hike over the Pacific Heights **ridge landmarks**, in interactive groups, with the **road as the experience**, the fair as the **prize** destination. By our past volunteering experience, **working in small groups** together **bonds** people fast. And as you have seen, our walk column has leads and sweeps. We plan to **open** that to people willing trying, in small groups, to work together to guide the troop through different legs, in **rotation**. So **willing** people have chance to form closer bonds with each other. Notice that this is a **real** walk — about 2.3 miles, including the Lyon Street Steps, one of SF's great stair climbs. The views are the point, so we have chances to stop, to chat, to appreciate the **beauty** of the city. Grab a coffee and a bite, get checked in, meet your walking pod. We roll at 12:00 sharp down Chestnut — the Marina's main street. **12:15 — Palace of Fine Arts.** The rotunda and lagoon. Cameras out. **12:50 — The Climb.** Lyon Street Steps: landscaped terraces, mansions on both sides, and a reveal at the top we won't spoil. We regroup at the garden landing — nobody gets left behind. **1:10 — The Ridge.** Broadway's Billionaires' Row, then an easy walk along the crest to Alta Plaza. **1:30 — Friend Circle @ Alta Plaza Park.** Our signature stop, on the terraces with the whole city as the backdrop — a quick structured round so you leave knowing the people you walked with. Group photo on the terrace steps. Then downhill all the way. **1:45 — St Dominic's Church**. **Hello Ocean Lovers,** Let's meet up go for a Green Exercise Wellness Hike at Lands End Trail, meet new friends and get a good workout together. Enjoy Ocean air and Healing Sea for our physical Health and Mental well-being Lands End Trail is a favorite among both locals and visitors alike! This trail explores the historic Sutro Baths and offers great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Ocean. A must see for any visitor to San Francisco. **Lands End San Francisco** The Coastal Trail at Lands End in San Francisco is a gorgeous spot for hiking, but most visitors to the city don't know it's there. Early History San Francisco was originally inhabited by the Ohlone Indians. An archeological site at Lands End was dated at 150 A.D., but there is evidence that Indians had been living in San Francisco for around 3,000 years. They had seasonal camps where the Sutro Baths ruins are now, eating seafood and hunting seals; archeologists found their garbage dumps, more politely known as middens. Hiking the Lands End Trail The Lands End Coastal Trail is walkway that starts just above the Cliff House, then winds in and out of the woods and along the edge of the bluffs, and ends in a ritzy residential area (Sea Cliff) near China Beach. Lands End Trail The way down is quite steep, but there is a stairway to follow. It's a small, rocky beach, good for relaxing and watching the breaking waves, but too rough (and cold) for swimming. Mile Rock Beach Another branch of the same path will take you down to the mini-beach, Mile Rock Beach, at the foot of Lands End Point. Mile Rock Beach-Tiny, but cool!
