Civic Engagement San Francisco
Engage with San Francisco's civic-minded community

CityCamp SF 2026
Sat, Sep 19, 9:00 PM**PLEASE REGISTER AT:** [https://c4sf.me/citycamp](https://c4sf.me/citycamp) **CityCamp SF** is a one-day unconference — a participant-driven gathering where anyone can propose, lead, or join sessions about the issues and opportunities shaping life in San Francisco. Instead of a pre-set agenda, the day starts with an empty schedule (“The Wall”) and a room full of people ready to share ideas, skills, and solutions. Whether you care about public transit, housing, parks, education, open data, community safety, climate resilience, or local arts — if it touches public life in San Francisco, it belongs here. Sessions might be discussions, hands-on workshops, demos, or collaborative problem-solving labs. Expect to connect with a diverse mix of neighbors, civic leaders, technologists, advocates, designers, policy wonks, educators, and curious residents. Bring your ideas, your expertise, or just your curiosity — everyone is welcome, and no experience is required. CityCamp SF is more than a conference. It’s a space for real conversations, cross-community connections, and collective action. Come ready to listen, share, and shape San Francisco’s future together. Proposed Timeline: 2:00pm - 2:30pm: Registration, networking 2:30pm - 3:00pm: Opening remarks, idea pitches for sessions 3:00pm - 3:30pm: Voting for sessions 3:30pm - 4:20pm: Breakout session 1 4:30pm - 5:20pm: Breakout session 2 5:30pm - 6:00pm: Report backs and closing

Attendance needs to be limited.** Presented by Northeastern University Oakland and OpenOakland. **Interested in volunteering to support OpenOakland's Tech Week events? Sign up [here](https://forms.gle/EVdxLc6sCjJcn2HG9?utm_source=luma)!** The Beautiful Oakland: Civic Tech Idea-A-Thon is a focused, energizing half-day event that brings Oakland residents, students, technologists, and city officials together to generate fresh ideas for tackling illegal dumping and improving the physical environment in Oakland. The event opens with an expert panel - a mix of government and community leaders will ground participants in the problem and what's already been tried. Attendees will then take part in structured ideation workshop, practicing critical design thinking skills along the way: individual idea generation, sharing within small groups, and narrowing down ideas. Groups will then iterate on and scope their strongest idea, then present it back to the full room. Top ideas are documented as brief canvases (problem, solution sketch, feasibility, suggested next step) so they can be picked up later for a class project, a policy conversation, a pilot, or a future hackathon.
