**🚐 Doors Open Niagara-on-the-Lake Road Trip!** **Saturday, October 17** Let’s hit the road for another Doors Open adventure! We’ll be heading to beautiful **Doors Open Niagara-on-the-Lake** to explore historic buildings, cultural sites, and hidden spaces that are rarely open to the public. Nick has been a **Doors Open Toronto volunteer for over two decades**, and he always enjoys checking out Doors Open events in other cities. Niagara-on-the-Lake is known for its incredible heritage architecture, charming streets, and fascinating history—making it a perfect destination for a Doors Open day trip. *** ### 🏛️ What is Doors Open? If you’ve never attended before, **Doors Open** is a free architectural and cultural event held in communities across Ontario. For one special weekend, cities open the doors to historic buildings, cultural institutions, churches, theatres, and other interesting spaces—many of which are normally closed to the public. Visitors can explore at their own pace, learn about local history, and sometimes go behind the scenes with guided tours or special access. Join us for a special celebration of Mexican culture and food with activities including live music, traditional dancing, Mexican market and crafts. There will also be food demos, food vendors and drinks. We'll first meet at noon OUTSIDE Castle Frank Station then take a nice 30 minute walk through the Don Valley to see the fall leaves then on to the Brickworks for the free festival. Please dress warmly as the festival is OUTSIDE. This is a highly recommended event. There is free street parking near the station. We will be joined by my other meetup group Walk and Roll. (Saturday, October 24th)** -October is here, and we’re celebrating with an howlin' evening of karaoke and new connections! Choose an old favourite, try something unexpected or relax with a drink while cheering on the singers. You don’t need a perfect voice or any karaoke experience—This event is about having fun, meeting friendly people and enjoying the moment. Come alone, bring a friend or invite a group. We’ll help everyone feel welcome! **Evening highlights:** * Karaoke favourites from every decade * A relaxed and supportive atmosphere * Cocktails, beer, soft drinks and food available for purchase * Opportunities to meet new people * Plenty of music, laughter and autumn fun * Two mics for duets as well :) Please be respectful of the venue, performers and fellow guests.
