🥟🍺 Dumplings + Beer = A Pretty Solid Friday Night🍺🥟

We’re heading to the **San Gabriel Dumpling & Beer Fest**, where the Historic Mission District gets taken over by dumplings, street food, craft beer, live entertainment, a night market, and thousands of hungry people making questionable decisions about how many dumplings constitute a reasonable dinner. Spoiler: there is no reasonable number. General admission to the festival is **FREE**, so you don't have to drink beer to join us. You purchase food separately from the vendors. If you want access to the 21+ Beer Garden and unlimited beer tastings, you'll need to buy a Beer Garden ticket separately. This year’s lineup includes local food vendors plus a bunch of breweries, so there should be plenty to eat, drink, and wander around pretending we have a strategy. My plan is pretty simple: meet up, explore together, find some great dumplings, maybe discover something weird and delicious, grab a drink if you're drinking, and hang out. Come hungry. Seriously. San Gabriel Valley Chinese Language Meetup

The primary reason for this meetup is for a friendly language exchange between English speakers and Chinese(all dialects) speakers. The end goal is to improve in the language that each person seeks to learn. The secondary reason is for an exchange of cultures(all cultures 😃).

Learn and enjoy dances from around the world

We dance on Thursdays 8:00 - 10:00 PM at the Nourishing Spirits Center on the campus of St. George's Episcopal Church, 808 Foothill Blvd., in La Canada. Whether you're new to folk dancing or experienced, we hope you’ll join us for fun and beautiful dances from around the world. This may be long, but we think you will find it helpful. This event is part of an ongoing group, and you are welcome to come any week. For your first visit, please try to arrive 5-10 minutes early so we can say hello before teaching starts. We will teach several dances appropriate for both new and experienced dancers for half an hour or so, and there will be more dances you can join in after that. You will be dancing the first evening, even if you have never danced before. The particular dances we teach each week will depend on the dance experience of our participants. We'll have a break at 9:00 for refreshments and socializing and then dance again until 10:00. (If you can't stay that late, it's perfectly fine to leave early.) Your $5 helps pay our rent. This is not a business. We dance for the joy of it. We are a very friendly group and very supportive of new participants. The teaching is extremely popular. No one is ever pressured or put on the spot. Our only goal is to have fun together. We no longer require vaccinations or masks, but we encourage good health practices, and some participants wear masks. SCHEDULE: 7:00pm - doors + band + socializing 7:15ish - beginner lesson + socializing 7:30ish - dancing DIRECTIONS: Punch "Mayflower Club" into maps and it should get there easy. 11110 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606 PARKING: There is free parking behind the club. Street parking on Victory Blvd should also be free after 7pm, but double-check posted signs. MEETING UP: We'll meet up by the wall mural of the Mayflower. We will meet there as a group from 7:00-7:10pm. If you're late and miss the group meet, ask the people at the check-in table to point you to Thomas or Charlotte, and we'll introduce you to the rest of the group. DRINKS/FOOD INFO: You may bring your own food and refillable water bottle. No outside alcohol or other bottled drinks allowed. Bar onsite.
