Join us for a fun afternoon picnic this bank holiday - with tasty snacks and great conversations! 祝日ピクニック開催: おや぀片手に楜しく話したしょう 🌳 **Where to Find Us - 集合堎所** We’ll be gathering in our usual spot, under the Shakespeare Oak at Primrose Hill. い぀もの堎所、プリムロヌズ・ヒルにある「シェむクスピア・オヌク」の朚の䞋に集たりたす。 **What to Bring - 持ち物** To make this a fun communal vibe, we reccomend bringing a snack or drink to share. みんなで楜しい時間を過ごせるように、シェアできるスナックや飲み物を持っおきおいただけるず嬉しいです。 While any food is welcome, it would be great to see some Korean or Japanese inspired treats! どんな食べ物でも倧歓迎ですが、韓囜や日本にちなんだお料理やお菓子があるず、さらに嬉しいです e.g. Onigiri, Kimbap, Mochi... 🍙🥢 䟋おにぎり、キンパ、逅など  If you can bring a picnic blanket, or anything else that might be useful at a picnic, that would be really helpful. ピクニックシヌトや、ピクニックに圹立ちそうなものを持っおきおいただけるず、ずおも助かりたす。 Unfortunately BBQ's are not allowed in the park. 残念ながら、公園内ではバヌベキュヌは犁止されおいたす。 **Who Can Join? - 参加できる方** Everyone interested in Korean or Japanese culture is welcome - no need to speak either language. 韓囜や日本の文化に興味がある方なら、どなたでも倧歓迎です。 This will be a joint event with the Korean Culture Meetup. 今回は「Korean Culture Meetup」ずの合同むベントです。 Our events have a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. 私たちのむベントは、フレンドリヌで誰でも参加しやすい雰囲気です。 There's usually a mix of newcomers and regulars who will make you feel welcome. 初参加の方ず垞連の方がい぀も䞀緒に参加しおいるので、初めおの方も安心しお楜しめたす。 🌀 **Weather- 倩** Fingers crossed for good weather, but if it rains heavily we'll move to a pub nearby. Join me at NHC 2026! Notting Hill Carnival is the UKs largest street festival, celebrating Caribbean heritage, culture, and arts with over 2 million attendees. Held annually in West London during the August bank holiday weekend, the event features a vibrant parade, sound systems, steel bands, and traditional Caribbean food. The date may be Sunday and/or Monday - it will be confirmed with those that RSVP. Admin fee: £3pp

At this time of year, on and around the birthday (20th August 2026), of Dr Tai Solarin, Association of Black Humanists joyfully celebrates and recognises the contribution of African humanists in Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. This year our celebrations will take place at 4pm to 7pm on Sunday 23rd August 2026 at May Foods, 16C Market Row, London SW9 8LD, an authentic Ghanaian restaurant with an inexpensive selection of mouth-watering dishes. =================== Date: Sunday, 23rd August 2026 Time: 4pm - 7.00pm meal at May Foods restaurant Venue: May Foods, 16c Market Row, London SW9 8LD =================== Join us to honour the life and legacy of Tai Solarin – Nigerian educator, writer, and fearless humanist who championed truth, reason, and social justice. He established the famous Mayflower School, Ikenne, Ogun State in 1956. A passionate advocate for Pan-African progress, Solarin dedicated his life to challenging dogma, promoting education, and inspiring Africans to think freely and act boldly. On this day, we celebrate not just his achievements, but the values he stood for: integrity, equality, and the belief that a better Africa is built through critical thought and human endeavour.
