**NOTE:** This event is posted on multiple Meetup groups. **ABOUT:** Explore a fascinating mini-museum, leading commercial art galleries and experimental creatives spaces in Chippendale and Redfern on Saturday, June 27. This walk is beginner-friendly, and all are welcome - whether you've engaged with art before or not. Exchange numbers and make new friends as you listen to interesting stories of Australian and international artists... **MEETING TIME:** 11:00 – 11:10 AM. **MEETING POINT:** Meet outside "Cotti Coffee", 104 Eveleigh St, Redfern NSW 2016 (3 min from Redfern station). **START AND PROGRAMME:** We will begin at 11:10 AM - first exploring Chippendale, later Redfern. Midway, we will take a short break. **END:** We will end by 2:15 PM. Easy walk back to the Redfern station. You may also wait for drinks and snacks and more chatting with group members, if interested. **PRICE OF TOUR:** Please pay $20 by cash on arrival. Drawing II / Course for intermediate drawing skills

WE HAVE ONLY THREE PLACES AVAILABLE FOR THIS COURSE DRAW II . Urban Landscapes This is a seven week course focussed on an urban landscape on Sydney Harbour. Urban landscapes provide an opportunity to draw structure within the landscape which is a great way for beginner drawing students to segue into landscape and the different drawing approaches for that genre. The first session is spent drawing on-site in a Sydney Harbour location learning how artists make studies that are useful as reference material for works created and developed in the studio. Weeks 2 – 7 in this course are spent in the studio with experienced artist [Carmel Byrne](www.carmelbyrne.com) to help develop ideas and to experiment further with materials and scale in drawing. Students must provide their own materials for this course and we’ll back up in the studio with any materials that will help extend your vocabulary in drawing along with scale and techniques. Life drawing has long been a foundational practice of classical art and is regarded as the best way to learn to draw the human form. However, most life drawing classes focus on static poses without intention or meaning. These are great for learning human anatomy, but what do they tell you about the character? Teaming up with our talented life models, you will learn traditional life drawing techniques with a focus on capturing models with props, armour, and costumes in fantastical and story driven poses. **In this class, you will:** * Be guided through a fantasy-themed life drawing class with a costumed model * Learn figure drawing techniques * Gain an understanding of human anatomy and how it interacts with a variety of materials * Learn how to effectively pose characters to convey meaning and story **What to bring:** * Your preferred paper and drawing materials, but basic materials are available if needed. * Your awesome self.
