Ocean Beach Volleyball Meetup is a training-and-play event for players who want to get better, not just jump straight into games. Everyone starts with three short phases of VBX Volleyball training before open play. VBX is a no-net training system that helps players improve faster by giving them more touches, more rallies, and more chances to read, move, pass, set, and attack in game-like situations. After the VBX warm-up and skill-building phases, players move onto the nets for open play. As the group keeps improving, we’ll also set up more courts geared toward doubles play for players who want a faster, more competitive challenge. Learn practical clothing alteration techniques you can use to improve the fit of garments you already own or are working on. In this class, Jasmine will go over hemming, darts, panels, and other common ways to alter the shape and fit of clothing. This is a great class for anyone who wants to build confidence with basic garment adjustments, better understand how clothing is constructed, or learn approachable ways to make pieces fit more comfortably. Bring your curiosity and get ready to learn useful skills you can continue practicing in future sewing projects. Volleyball. Training and Playing

Whether you’re starting out or looking for a place to play, you’ve landed in the right place.
You’re going to meet people who are going to help you get better as well as those who will become long time playing buddies. 



You’ll have an opportunity to learn how to get better the fastest way possible - but you’ll have to ask personally - everyone’s different. 😊
Join us whether it’s training, tournaments, or open play! 



You may come regularly or every now and then. Play for hours or a short while. You will find volleyball joy that will brighten your weekend or enough to change your life! 



Please RSVP to let me know you’re coming BUT note that most players don’t RSVP. There will be 20-30+ players and most of them come around 10:30. I’m at the beach early to help players improve in one or all of three areas - physical, technical, or mental. 



Bring what you would normally bring to the beach for a four hour stay. There is a bathroom across the street at the Beach Chalet which opens at 10:00. There are also bathrooms at the Beach Chalet sports field which is a six minute walk or at Safeway which is a five minute walk. 



Equipment and all fees associated with putting on this event including creating this MeetUp group is out of pocket. My intent is to make this event readily available and affordable. Donations are very much appreciated.

Play, Express, Create Among Men!

When did you last get to play, express, and create with an easy-going, fun-loving group of men? In this facilitator-lead session, we'll use the very accessible forms of InterPlay (www.InterPlay.org) to see what comes out in the moment with movement, story-like things, song-like things, and other kinds of solo and collaborative activities. (First session is free and after that we request a $15/session contribution to cover rent and such. Volume discount of $9/session, and no one turned away for lack of funds.) For this month's game we are playing the action-adventure game *Ōkami*. *Take on the role of Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess who inhabits the form of a legendary white wolf Shiranui on a quest to defeat Orochi.* *Ōkami* is available on Steam, Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. Play through the game as much as you can for our discussion; even if you don't complete the game, you're welcome to come to discuss as well as nominate future titles. There is nothing X-rated, but some of the questions would be considered R-rated or involve adult themes. HOW IT WORKS: This completely online event will be LIVE and you will be able to see and hear the other participants while playing. In addition you will get to meet and interact with other participants. At game time, your host will read off several survey questions on a variety of topics. Your goal is to come up with the number one answer to each question and write it down on your paper. Once the round is over (about 6 questions), we will go through the answers and determine who had the highest score for the round. The winners will get a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize at the end of the event. Prizes will be an Amazon Gift card!
