Saturday stroll to FiDi and Staten Island Ferry. Meet at Epicerie Boulud inside the Oculus (uploaded a photo for reference), in front of Path entrance, as there will be some people joining us from NJ. You will have the opportunity to grab breakfast etc. **Note:** * Please go at your own pace. You don't have to follow me. I will be reachable by chat, if you need me to wait for you. The plan is to board the 2.30 pm ferry. * Staten Island Ferry Schedule: https://siferry.com/schedules/ * You may leave the photowalk whenever you please. 1\. From the Oculus\, we walk to Whitehall Street South Ferry to board the Staten Island ferry\. You can shoot all along\, this is not a march\. We will be passing by Trinity place\, Zuccotti park and the Charging Bull **Fun fact (?):** The ferry has been operational since 1905 and is free. 2\. We will offboard at St George Ferry terminal in Staten Island\, for pictures\. **Fun fact (?):** It is one of the few remaining direct rail-to-ferry transit connections left in the entire United States, letting passengers step straight from the train to the boat. Long before carrying only pedestrians, the ferries used to transport horses and later cars (for a $3 fee), but vehicles were permanently banned after the September 11 attacks 3\. Will take the ferry back to Whitehall\. Ferries run every 30 mins on weekends\. 4\. From Whitehall\, we will head out to the core of Wall Street\, a pedestrian zone surrounded by Broadway\, Beaver\, Pine and Williams street\. You will have free reign there\. No specific route to follow\. *The photowalk ends* at the corner of William and Pine street. The subway station is there. **Notable places to eat**: Farida, Manhatta, and Fraunces. Fraunces being the oldest (?) bar in NYC. Farida is a Kazakh restaurant. Manhatta offers great views of the city (and food and cocktails).

You can love each other — and still be unhappy together. You can imagine one life together, only to realize one day that somehow you are living another. And when one person decides to change something, it changes more than just their own life — the relationship itself can no longer remain exactly as it was. On October 10 at Room 8, we’ll watch Revolutionary Road (2008) and talk about love, intimacy, disappointment, and what happens between two people when their ideas of a shared life begin to pull in different directions. Before the film, we’ll begin with a short psychoanalytic introduction — a few ideas and questions that may offer a different way of seeing the story. After the screening, we’ll stay for a conversation — about the film, its characters, and what the story stirred in each of us. Not to decide who was right or what the director “really meant.” We’re more interested in our own reactions: Who did you sympathize with? Who frustrated you? Whom did you want to blame or defend? And why can the very same relationship look so different depending on who is watching? We’ll watch and discuss the film in a small group of up to 12 people — intimate enough for this to remain a conversation, rather than a discussion from the audience, and for everyone to have a place in the dialogue. No background in psychology or film is required. Just an interest in good films, in people, and perhaps a little curiosity about yourself. The meeting will be facilitated by Aleksandr Stepanov and Renata Urakcheeva, both trained in psychoanalysis and group work. Your spot is reserved once payment is received. The film ends. The experience begins.

For the third session of our **Early Morning NYC Photography Series**, we're heading into **NoHo and SoHo** to take advantage of the beautiful early-morning light and some of Manhattan's most distinctive architecture. This will be a photography walk focused particularly on **light, shadow, architecture, and people.** The streets are generally quieter in the early morning, allowing us to slow down and really look for compositions. ### 📍 Meeting Point **Astor Place — near the Astor Place Cube** We'll meet at Astor Place and work our way through NoHo toward SoHo, exploring the streets and architecture along the way. ### 📷 What we'll look for • Early-morning light and long shadows • Cast-iron architecture • Geometric compositions • Repeating patterns and textures • Doorways, windows, and architectural details • Reflections • People framed by the architecture • Interesting juxtapositions and street scenes Rather than trying to see all of NoHo and SoHo, we'll concentrate on **finding photographs**. Look up. Look down. Look across the street. Look for the small details as well as the big picture. ### A photographic challenge During the walk, try for photographs where **light and shadow are the primary subjects.** And don't be afraid to experiment with different focal lengths, perspectives, and compositions. ### Who should attend? **All experience levels are welcome.** Bring your usual camera or smartphone. There is no required equipment and no need to have previous street photography experience. This is a relaxed opportunity to photograph, exchange ideas, and start the day creatively. We're heading to the Brooklyn waterfront to photograph one of New York City's most spectacular urban environments. **For approximately 90 minutes, we'll explore the DUMBO/Brooklyn Bridge Park area**, looking beyond the obvious skyline photograph and looking for the many different photographic opportunities around us. 📍 Meeting Point **DUMBO Archway Plaza — Water Street between Pearl Street and Anchorage Place** **We'll meet near the iconic Manhattan Bridge view and then make our way toward the waterfront and Brooklyn Bridge Park.** 📷 What we'll look for • Manhattan skyline views • Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridge perspectives • Reflections and waterfront compositions • Architecture and geometric shapes • Morning light on buildings • People interacting with the environment • Boats and activity along the East River • Details that might otherwise be overlooked The challenge is to photograph the waterfront as more than just a postcard. Try looking for people, architecture, water, and light. We'll keep the pace relaxed and stop frequently to photograph. **The goal isn't to cover every part of the waterfront—it's to give ourselves time to see and photograph what's around us.** Who should attend?
