Free In-Person Meeting: Healing from Trauma and Past Betrayals
Tue, Aug 4, 10:45 PMThis is a free, in person meeting. Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. We look forward to having you join us! This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.

Confidence Lab: Self-Awareness, the Foundation of Confidence
Thu, Aug 6, 9:30 PM**An honest conversation about the lifelong practice of knowing yourself, and showing up as yourself.** Over the past three months, Confidence Lab has explored a simple but powerful idea: confidence begins with seeing ourselves clearly. Self-awareness isn't something we achieve once, it's a lifelong practice. As we become more aware of our strengths, patterns, values, and blind spots, we gain the ability to make choices that are more intentional, more aligned, and more authentic. Join us as we wrap up our first quarterly theme, **Seeing Clearly**, with an engaging conversation about what it really takes to continue growing in self-awareness over time. **Description** What does it mean to know yourself? Not just in theory, but in the middle of everyday life? In this special fireside conversation, we'll sit down with community builder, storyteller, and Columbus influencer **Jeannette Burchfield** to explore her personal journey of self-awareness. Together, we'll discuss the experiences, relationships, feedback, and daily practices that have helped her become more grounded in who she is and how that ongoing work has shaped the way she lives, leads, and connects with others. This won't be a conversation about having it all figured out. It's about embracing self-awareness as an ongoing practice: learning to see ourselves honestly, staying aligned with our values, and growing through every season of life. Whether you've attended every Confidence Lab event or are joining us for the first time, you'll leave with practical insights, thoughtful reflection, and a deeper appreciation for why self-awareness is the foundation of lasting confidence. We'll also take a first look at our next quarterly theme, **Confidence in Relationship**, and explore how the work we do within ourselves shapes what becomes possible with others. **Featuring** **Jeannette Burchfield** is a Columbus-based community builder, storyteller, and social media influencer known for celebrating creativity, connection, and local culture. As the Social Media Coordinator for Opera Columbus and the creator behind Confetti Craft Club, Jeannette has built an engaged online community by encouraging people to embrace joy, express themselves authentically, and discover the vibrant experiences their city has to offer. Known for her colorful style, infectious enthusiasm, and genuine love for bringing people together, Jeannette believes confidence isn't about fitting into someone else's expectations, it's about becoming more fully yourself. Through storytelling, creativity, and community, she inspires others to live with curiosity, authenticity, and a little more confetti. Whether you’re launching a business, leading a team, navigating change, or simply striving to show up more fully, you belong here. Our work demands clarity, courage, and conviction, but the pace of daily life can erode our sense of self. Confidence Lab creates space to reflect, reconnect, and grow with others doing purpose-driven work. It’s designed for entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, creatives, corporate professionals, activists, and anyone ready to live with authenticity and impact. ***Please note:*** *All are welcome! Join **Daclaud** at **The Arcane Foundry** for an evening that introduces newcomers and enthusiasts alike to the timeless craft of **tabletop wargaming** and **miniature painting**. My own journey began with a fascination for fantasy — knights in armor, grim and hardened warriors, and monstrous creatures locked in epic battle. That passion led me to **Dungeons & Dragons**, where I painted my first **Basic Heroes set** and felt the spark that comes from bringing a character to life in miniature form. Not long after, I discovered **Warhammer Fantasy** and **Warhammer 40,000**, and I was hooked. The vision of vast armies clashing across the table — each unit meticulously painted, each story unfolding through dice and imagination — became my creative obsession. During this event, we’ll explore the **origins of wargaming**, from its early military simulations to the richly detailed worlds of modern tabletop battle systems. You’ll learn how to **build and customize your own armies**, paint your first figures, and experience the joy of turning strategy and storytelling into a hands-on art form. Whether you’re drawn by the lore, the hobby, or the thrill of commanding miniature legions, this introduction will open the gates to a world that has captivated hobbyists for generations. **🎨 RSVP today and join us at The Arcane Foundry — where every brushstroke and battle tells a story.**

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Voice Agents and AI
Wed, Aug 12, 10:30 PM**“I’m Sorry, Can You Repeat That?”** **\- When and Why Voice Agents Fail** Every contact center leader has heard it: a caller repeating their name three times, getting more frustrated with each attempt. The dashboards look clean. Containment is up, confidence scores look fine. The system looks like it’s working, but your customer just had their worst interaction of the week, and none of your metrics caught it. Analyzing voice-driven customer experience today means chasing answers across a dozen scattered signals, transcripts, sentiment scores, handle times, escalation rates, without a comprehensive map of the thing you’re actually measuring: a conversation. That map exists, and it’s called linguistics. With it, the scattered signals fall into their right spots and order, and you stop patching symptoms and start diagnosing the experience. The map starts with a simple model. Every conversation runs on two channels: the form (sounds, words, timing, turns) and the meaning (the task, the situation, the feeling). Customers keep both channels aligned, with each other and with their partner’s, continuously and without thinking. A voice agent that serves them well has to do the same: keeping its form and meaning channels aligned, with each other, and with the customer’s, constantly and seamlessly. The map survives every technology shift, because it describes the conversation, not the implementation. From it, you get both halves of the job: design questions for building better customer experiences, and a matrix that turns “the customer was frustrated” or “the bot just didn’t get it” into concrete, measurable, fixable failure modes, the missing rows in your voice-of-customer analysis. Who this is for: CX and customer service leaders, analysts working with call and chat data, voice AI practitioners, and anyone who’s watched clean dashboards while their customers quietly suffered. **About our Speaker:** [Midam Kim](https://www.linkedin.com/in/midamkim/) is an ML Engineer at [ServiceNow](https://www.servicenow.com/), where she builds and evaluates a multilingual voice AI platform spanning a dozen languages. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from Northwestern University and has backgrounds in linguistics, speech science, cognitive science, machine learning, and business. Her work sits at the rare intersection of production ML engineering and speech science—translating decades of linguistic research into the engineering decisions voice AI teams are making right now. **Thanks to our 2026 sponsors:** [Clarivoy](https://www.clarivoy.com/), [What Box Consulting Group](https://www.whatboxconsultinggroup.com/), [Conductrics](https://www.conductrics.com/), and [Piwik PRO](https://piwik.pro/) More info at [cbusdaw.com](https://cbusdaw.com/)
