Visit one of the wonders of the wonders of the world: Machu Picchu, and other ancient sights such as Colca Canyon, Rainbow Mountain, the highest lake in the world: Lake Titicaca and more. We will also take the ‘once in a lifetime’ hike across South America’s most legendary hiking route - The Inca Trail. Followed by an adrenaline-filled adventure in the Huacachina desert with a thrilling dune buggy ride and sand boarding across the sand dunes, catch the sunset and spend some time in the Huacachina Oasis village before departing back to Lima. **Day 4 - Head to Arequipa (Monday)** Today we catch a flight to the City of Arequipa “The White City”, where its houses and building are made of sillar, a white volcanic stone. we will do a walking tour in the afternoon to see the history sights of the place. Arequipa is also known for its delicious food so we will definitely take advantage of it! **Day 5 - Colca Canyon and Chivay (Tuesday)** We will start our trip to Colca Canyon - twice as deep as the Grand Canyon, see many panoramic views and let the surreality of the canyon take over. This will be in two parts with an overnight stay in Chivay, and sights along the way and a change to get in some hot springs, in the evening see a dance show and indulge in some local food. **Day 6 - Colca Canyon and Puno (Weds)** An early start as we head to the Canyon, take in the spectacular views after our ascent and spot the Eagle Contours as they fly over. Many views and sights along the way, before heading back to Chivay and travelling to Puno for early evening, with chance to rest and head out for dinner in another new area. **Day 7 - Titicaca Lake, Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island** Puno is a small town located in the South of Peru on the bank of Lake Titicaca, the largest, highest, and deepest lake in South America. The lake is also know as the birthplace of the Inca’s, in spiritual terms the lake is considered to be the Sacral Chakra of the World. We will head for a tour of the lake, The Uros floating islands and Taquile Island. Arriving in plenty of time for late afternoon and evening relaxing and free time. **Day 8 - Arrive in Cusco (Friday)** Today we depart Puno early and head to Cusco by bus, in the Peruvian Andes, this was once capital of the Inca Empire, and is now known for its archaeological remains and Spanish colonial architecture. At 4000 meters above sea level so we will need to acclimatise. We can spend the rest of the afternoon exploring this great place, taking it easy and grabbing some delicious food. **Day 9 - Sacred Valley of the Incas (Saturday)** The thorough itinerary today takes you to Ollantaytambo, Moray, Chinchero, Pisac, and the Salinas de Maras salt mines. Along the way, enjoy lunch and a visit to a craft workshop in the colonial city of Chicneros. After we will have more free time in the evening to explore Cusco, with an early night for tomorrows hike. **Day 10 - Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley (Sunday)** Early Rise at 4am! After breakfast we we will head on a hiking tour to be one of the first groups on Rainbow Mountain, enjoy amazing views and encounters with wild alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas. Also seeing the nearby Red Valley canyon. Following a buffet lunch we will head back to Cusco. **Day 11 - Rest Day / Optional Humanatay Lake (Monday)** Before the big Inca Trail - which we will have briefing for this day, this will also be a FREE DAY to explore and take things easy in Cusco and shopping or other interest. For those who are still in the hiking mood can take an optional hike to the fabulous Humanatay Lake pictured on the right, but expect another early start so choice is yours for today! **Day 11 - INCA Trail Part 1 (Tuesday)** Today is the day as we set on an adventure on the ancient inca trail, bring the essentials with you for hike. We start travel through the Sacred Valley. The adventure starts at Abra Málaga pass, offering views of Huacay Willca. After receiving biking gear, a downhill bike journey through Puna and Cloud Forest zones lasts about 3 hours, ending at Huaman Marq’a ruins. A short van ride and walk lead to Santa Maria, then to Pispitayoc village for an overnight stay in an eco-house in the forest. **Day 12 - Inca Trail Part 2 (Wednesday)** Second day of the Inca Jungle trail starts with a breakfast, where the guide teaches coffee roasting. The hike then follows part of the Inca Trail network, the Qhapaq Ñan, offering views of diverse birds and plantations like coca, coffee, and fruit trees. After reaching the Huancarcasa viewpoint, there’s a relaxing break with panoramic views. The trail then descends to Qellomayo village for lunch. The final leg of the day's trek, leads to the optional Cocalmayo thermal baths before arriving in Santa Teresa for dinner and overnight stay. **Day 13 - Inca Trail Part 3 (Thursday)** We begin with a hearty breakfast in Santa Teresa. The trek then continues for 3 hours through coffee and coca plantations, leading to Hidroeléctrica where lunch and a break are scheduled. Post-lunch, the journey resumes for another 3 hours along the train track, arriving in Aguas Calientes, the town near Machu Picchu. The afternoon is free for leisure. In the evening, the group gathers for dinner and discusses the upcoming climb to Machu Picchu. **Day 14 - Inca Trail 4 (Friday)** The final day, starts early at 4:00 am with a hike up to Machu Picchu, lasting about 1.5 hours. At the citadel, a 2-hour guided tour covers the most significant parts of Machu Picchu. Post-tour, there's free time for personal exploration. The journey concludes with a return to Aguas Calientes to collect belongings, followed by a train ride to Ollantaytambo. From there, a bus takes you back to Cusco, which we should be there for the afternoon, but allow time to overrun, we will spend a final night in Cusco. **Day 15 - Final Day in Peru (Saturday)** We will spend a final morning in Cusco before getting an early afternoon flight back to Lima where we can make our connecting flight back home and say our goodbyes. For those who are joining us for the Amazon Adventure, we can carry on from there. **Accomodation** You will be staying at 5 different hotels (Mixture of 3 and 4 stars) through the Cities and towns we will stay and for Inca Trail we will stay at a mixture or lodges and hostels (shared). All breakfast included and you will have a room to share or own room at additional cost (Note that this isn’t possible for 3 nights on Inca Trail) as trekking will involve sharing rooms. You will be staying at: *Casa Andina Standard Benavides - Lima (3 Nights)* *Casa de Avila -Arequipa - (1 Night)* *Vita Hoteles Coloca -Chivay - (1 Night)* *Hotel Hacienda Puno Centro Histórico - Puno (2 Nights)* *Golden Inca Hotel -Cusco (5 Nights)* *Inca Trail on way to Machu Picchu - 1 X Ecolodge and 2 X Hostels (Shared) (3 Nights)* *\*Note this will be the only accommodation where we will need to share since a popular trekking route, we will be checking into 2 different hostels and eco-lodges - we can’t guarantee the particular places due to availability and confirming numbers for the trip, but will let you know, above is what to expect in terms of places where we will likely stay.* **Inca Trail not Compulsory - Alternative is Day Trip and Stay in Cusco** Since the Inca trail can be a challenge for those who are not used to hiking, so the alternative is to stay in Cusco with a full day tirp to Macchu Picchu, you will have an extra 2 full days which can be used to spend as you wish we will have some recommendations for your at extra costor you can just spend it doing what you wish **Visa and Entry Restrictions** No Visa needed from UK and can stay up to 90 days (Please Check if you have a different country of origin) **Requirements for trip** * In line with the values of the group, taking responsibility for themselves and ability to step out their comfort zone to learn new skills and give things a go, punctuality and to go with the flow of the group, whilst being able to do your own thing on free days without depending on others. * Good levels of fitness as a lot of Peru will be trail walks and the Inca Trail is 4 days which can be considered moderate to challenging (no prior trekking experience needed although it can be a challenge). If unsure we recommending reading blogs about the treks and making an assessment about whether you would be able to do it. Also for trail riding a bicycle for short time as well at the start. * Ability to adjust to high altitudes, if you are fit and healthy, this shouldn’t be too much of a concern, but with any illnesses or on medication if you can check if this is likely to affect you. With altitude sickness its hard to know until you experience it, most people are generally fine and we will take it slow. If people get any sickness there are options to take it slow and will take advice of guide, we expect people to adaptable and make their health number one priority and not take any unnecessary risks following best advice given. * Open minded and willingness to try new activities and experience a new culture * Bring some good hiking shoes and relevant clothes for hiking, also a mixture of clothes for different temperatures, expect cold evenings but warm days - we will send more info in a documentation pack 1 month before the trip. **Flights** You will need to get your own flights to Peru, we recommend British Airways (stop over in Madrid). We can head together on this one, but feel free to get your own flight and we can see you there and you will need to get your own transport to hotel. This route combines historic landmarks, peaceful woodland trails, rolling farmland, and breathtaking views across the Kent Downs. Starting in Sevenoaks, we begin by walking through the **famous deer park surrounding Knole House.** The expansive parkland is home to hundreds of **free-roaming deer** and offers a wonderful mix of open landscapes and ancient trees. During summer, the park is at its most vibrant, with lush greenery stretching across the estate. Leaving Knole behind, we continue through quiet fields and woodland paths, following scenic trails through the heart of the Kent countryside. **🥾Hike Details** **• Distance:** 18 km **• Hiking Time:** Approx. 5-6 hours **• Grade:** Easy/Moderate **• Ascent:** 240 m **• Pace:** Steady with breaks for lunch and photos **• Cost:** £33 per person (includes guided Hike & return train tickets) **👣 Hike Description** We start this scenic circular hike starting from **Otfors village,** heading out into the **beautiful Darent Valley.** Our route largely follows the Darent Valley Path, offering a gentle introduction as we pass through the **charming Kent countryside.** Early on, we’ll walk by The Mount Vineyard and through the picturesque setting of Shoreham before continuing **past the striking lavender fields at Castle Farm** (seasonal colour and fragrance permitting). The walk then follows a peaceful riverside stretch leading to **Lullingstone Castle,** a historic manor house set within expansive grounds. A short distance further, we visit **Lullingstone Roman Villa,** home to remarkably preserved mosaic floors and rare wall paintings dating back to around AD 75. From here, the route becomes more undulating as we climb along the western side of the valley, offering rewarding views across the landscape. Our final leg continues into **Lullingstone Country Park,** an area known for its chalk grassland, ancient woodland, and internationally significant veteran trees.
