Pacifica MTB Trail Riding

Pacifica MTB Trail Riding

Sun, Aug 23, 12:00 AM
From Bay Area Cycling
4.8

Join us for an evening MTB ride on the **Pacifica coastal trails**, with great ocean views, fun singletrack, and plenty of descending. We’ll do **at least a couple of loops**, with the option to ride more depending on interest and time. The basic loop is **not particularly technical**, although a few sections run along an exposed cliffside. Nothing extreme, but riders who are uncomfortable with heights may want to skip this one. Depending on the group, we can also add some **more technical shortcut trails such as Two Pines**, with steeper/sketchier switchbacks. More advanced riders—or anyone interested in practicing technical riding—can spend some time there while others stick to the main route. **Helmet is required.** Some light protection (such as knee/elbow pads) is also a good idea, especially if you plan to try the more technical sections. **Meet:** Gray Whale Cove Trail Parking Lot **Start:** 5:00 PM, Saturday, August 22

Mt. Tam Dog Friendly Hike 7 1/2 miles

Mt. Tam Dog Friendly Hike 7 1/2 miles

Sun, Aug 23, 4:45 PM
From Lesbian-Friendly Hikers Over 50
4.9

Exploring the dog-friendly trails of the Mount Tamalpais watershed, this 7.5-mile loop offers a moderately strenuous hike with around 1,400 feet of total elevation gain. Navigating these specific paths ensures your dog can tag along on a leash, within the water district boundaries and don't wander onto adjacent state park land where pets aren't allowed. The trek kicks off with an initial climb on Rock Spring Fire Road before easing into a downhill stretch across Laurel Dell and down through Cataract and Marsh trails. You then begin the key segment of the route—a steady 1.5-mile climb up Kent Trail that leads back to higher ground. Reaching the top leaves a final stretch on Bernstein Trail or Rock Spring Fire Road to bring you right back to the parking lot. o Wear sturdy footwear for the rocky, root-filled sections o Trekking polls are helpful o Mostly shaded-wooded trails o Bring lunch and plenty of water o Dogs on leash
