Santa Monica Language Exchange Party!

Join us for another **Social Lingo Language Exchange Party!** Come meet new friends from around the world and have real, interesting and genuine conversations in any language you want to practice. Only know one language? That's cool -- you can be extra helpful for those looking to practice the one you speak :) Solidarity is providing us their entire back area -- so through the back patio bar, out the door to their new, extended outdoor area. We will have an exclusive event menu with discounts on food & drink all night long. PLEASE TIP 20%. We love hosting at Solidarity and want them to keep inviting us back. Please make sure to tip 20% on your bill. There is free street parking at meters all around the venue, Solidarity Restaurant. A sign out front will point you towards the back patio bar. Mandarin Language Exchange

This edition of the meetup will be at Bluestone Lane Manhattan Beach Cafe! The pier and oceanfront are walking distance from here for those looking to explore before or after the meetup. This is a welcoming, supportive environment to learn and practice Mandarin conversation and any other language you wish to learn or share. Please feel free to bring any learning materials you’re working on, language questions you have, a notebook or whiteboard and marker. See you there! Parking: street parking can be limited, but there are a few public parking structures nearby. We suggest planning for parking and walking time.

Cantonese Parents Meetup #5

Hi! Let's get together for a Summer park hang! We'll plan for Vista Hermosa park again, which I feel like despite attempted efforts, we haven't actually been back to since our first gathering! The area closer to the park's **West entrance** is shady. We'll set up under the trees. Hope to see you guys there! Bring any Canto books, toys or resources you might want to share with the group. Picnic blanket recommended but no fret if you show up without one. **1 RSVP per family** Whether or not you're bringing your fam, please RSVP for just yourself to leave space for others to RSVP (we're capped by Meetup to 10 RSVP guests). **How my personal journey is going:** My daughter is now 2, and extremely talkative. She mostly speaks in English but will say random things in Cantonese. She can say most of the colors in Canto (purple and yellow she gets stuck on for some reason) and even if she doesn't necessarily say them, she knows her body parts and animals in Canto. I consider this to be a mild miracle considering how often I (don't) speak to her in Cantonese (a mix of my own Canto limitations, and my perceived ability for her to understand instructions/respond to me when I say more unfamiliar things in Canto). Let's all support and encourage each other and our kids! **Intentions:** * Create a fun, friendly, and supportive community * Improve each other's Cantonese by providing more opportunities to speak and learn - both for parents and kids * Bond with other Cantonese-speaking parents (or non-Canto parents trying to learn) and share the joys and challenges of trying to raise Cantonese-speaking humans * Normalize Cantonese for our kids by creating a place where other kids also speak Cantonese * Promote Cantonese language and culture, and both surface and serve the Canto-speaking community scattered throughout LA * Share tips and Canto resources **If you can't make this date/time, but are interested in the group, please message me. San Gabriel Valley Chinese Language Meetup

The primary reason for this meetup is for a friendly language exchange between English speakers and Chinese(all dialects) speakers. The end goal is to improve in the language that each person seeks to learn. The secondary reason is for an exchange of cultures(all cultures 😃).

This is a weekly meet up that will occur every Thursdays in the City of San Gabriel. we will begin gathering around 6:30PM but we will officially begin at 7PM We will take turns practicing in English and Japanese. please make sure you are respectful to other participants as well as the establishment we are meeting up. Sunday Meetup - Casual Conversation

Please join us for our biweekly Japanese/English language exchange back at the South Bay Galleria mall in the 3rd floor cafeteria near the Italian food. This is a free-form group that generally has about 12+ participants every meetup. We request that everyone buys some food or drink in order to stay on the venue management's good side and continue to be able to use their space.
