Return of rock, blues, and country jam (near 2/210)
Sat, Jul 18, 10:00 PMHello, again, if you’re still out there! It’s been a while, but the drum kit is set up again. It’ll take some time to set up the PA, etc., but I’m hoping to get the jam going again. I’ve had this goofy idea for a while to play full band style, plugged in, singing through mics, but not real loud. Since Covid, I’ve met a mellow drum player who likes playing music, not real picky about style, and a great bass player who can play anything, but they’re both busy Saturdays. We’re probably going to jam some on Tuesdays, too. I play lousy guitar and write weird songs, but I like taking turns with others leading tunes. Looking for other musicians, singers, songwriters who’d like to collaborate on originals and covers of Americana, Dylan, Stones, Dead, etc.

$12 Tickets Hollywood Bowl Classical Good Seats Potluck Picnic Dinner
Fri, Jul 10, 1:30 AM[www.hollywoodbowl.com/events/performances](http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/events/performances) # The Classical World Cup ### Thu / July 9, 2026 - 8:00PM Dribble, pass, shoot, and score! The LA Phil celebrates the World Cup with a soccer-themed program of works from across the Americas. Tito Muñoz makes a performance feel “like the center of a social triangle of concerts, parties, and going to church” (*I Care If You Listen*). Now, he throws more fun into the mix, turning the Hollywood Bowl into a sports arena during this World Cup-themed classical program. Muñoz debuts with the LA Phil, conducting an exhilarating selection of pieces from the Americas—including Copland and Ginastera’s high-spirited cowboy suites, Revueltas’ rip-roaring and aggressive “Chant for Killing a Snake,” and a world premiere by Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated composer Adam Schoenberg. Paired with original footage of elite training and match play from director Josh Kahn, *The Art of the Goal* blends the rhythm of sport with the expressive depth of orchestral music. Before intermission, Randall Goosby brings an athletic approach to Barber’s Violin Concerto, revealing its rich colors, textures, and characters. “I’m a sucker for anything lyrical and beautiful. It’s such descriptive and expressive music. Each movement [has] stories that are wrapped up in it. It’s always fun to play,” Goosby says. “With a buttered cream technique that belies the perfect fingering and light but firm bowing, [Goosby] stands out from all of his fellow violinists” (*Stage and Cinema*). Catch his first performance at the Bowl since 2022! $12 entrance ticket payable to Daniel Sm*ith via Zelle. Section L $29.50 seats in Section L.! We will meet at 6:30pm in front of the Bowl Box Office. You will receive your ticket then. Daniel will be wearing a black cowboy hat.* Foodie potluck picnic dinner at 7pm with the concert from 8pm til 10pm. You may take an early 5pm Hollywood Bowl Park and Ride bus for 8 round trip if purchased at [www.HollywoodBowl.com/visit/getting-here](http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/visit/getting-here) at least 2 days in advance. Otherwise 12 exact cash the day of the concert. For the potluck picnic dinner, kindly bring a signature homemade entree or buy your favorite dish from a favorite restaurant. And while 15,000 or 20,000 steps would be great, they also require more time. So to make it fun and manageable, we’re starting with 10k steps as a challenge—and we may increase the goal in future events. **THE IMPORTANT POINTS ARE THESE;** Space is limited, so **please RSVP only if you’re 100% sure you’ll attend.** 🙏🏾If you RSVP and don’t show, you will be 🚩Red Flagged 🚩for future events—we all appreciate reliability and respect for others' abilities to get a spot to walk!🙏🏾 Expect to hit somewhere between **10,000–12,000 steps (approximately 7.5-9 miles),** depending on the pace and group.
