Oakland Capture the City: Urban Sketching Session

We are heading out to downtown Oakland for our next urban sketching session. This is an informal gathering for anyone who enjoys drawing on location, whether you have been doing it for years or are just starting to carry a sketchbook. The goal is simply to find a comfortable spot, spend some time observing the architecture and street life, and share what we have worked on at the end of the session. We will meet near the plaza to say hello before fanning out to find our own subjects. You are welcome to bring whatever supplies you are comfortable using, though I recommend keeping your kit light and portable. It does not matter if your sketches are polished or just quick scribbles; the focus here is just on getting out and putting pen to paper. This isn’t your typical girls-only Vegas weekend trip. This is a Women’s Las Vegas Vacation Weekend Adventure, Explorer Chick style! (That means packing your sequins and sports bras!) After a few nights on the strip, enjoy rock climbing, kayaking and overnight camping in Black Canyon. Experience both the glamour and true grit of Las Vegas, Nevada in its surrounding desert landscape with other adventurous women.
