Hike On! 10th Annual Picnic at Kennedy Grove (🥳)

Peculiar Paths of Potrero Hill

Let's do a an urban hike to explore some of the Peculiar Paths in Potrero Hill, including some delightful dirt roads. I am still working on the exact route. We will start in the Mission and head into to Potrero Hill. We will look for stairs, gardens, dirt roads, stairs, and alleys. There will be hills and stairs. We will not end at start point. The after gathering will depend on the weather. If it is nice we will have it outside picnic style and we will stop at a store for provisions. Bring a cupy or prepare to purchase one. Hope to see you there! Please note: Phone help is not available for latecomers. If you are late it is very hard to catch up with us. We walk at a medium pace. Escorts or sweeps are not provided, so slower walkers should be completely prepared to finish the hike on their own if they become separated from the group, and they may want to consider bringing a friend to walk with them. Sunday Kickball @ Bushrod Park!

BASS presents our favorite event, kickball! We will be at our normal spot in the East Bay at Bushrod Park in Oakland! Bring your soccer cleats (for better grip on the field), sunscreen, and athletic wear and water for a fun time out! For those who haven't played kickball before, the rules will be explained and demonstrated before we start. Depending on the attendance, we'll either have 2 teams facing off or a rotation of 3 teams all together. Then after we may hit the local pizza/bar scene if everyone still wants to hang out. We have a HARD START at 1pm, so please be sure to show up on time for warmups! (We also nearly lost the field previously because not enough people were there on time) See you there soon! 🔴 Note: Please, please, please don’t no show. 🙏 It makes these events really difficult to plan. If you no show once, you will be given lower priority for future events. The second time, you will be removed from the event list for any attendee limited event we host.

Pastries, Cliffs & Ocean Views: SF Urban Hike

Join us for a relaxed San Francisco urban hike combining neighborhood streets, coastal trails, historic sites, and big Pacific Ocean views. We'll kick things off at Butter Love Bakeshop in the Outer Richmond, where we'll grab some baked goods and coffee before setting off (we'll wait until 9:45am for any late arrivals). From there, we'll walk toward Sutro Heights and make our way through the Land's End area, after which we'll finish by walking toward Sunset Dunes for the final stretch along San Francisco's oceanfront. This is a casual-paced hike. We'll take our time, enjoy the scenery, stop for photos, and give everyone a chance to chat and take in the views. (Dogs are totally welcome!) This San Francisco Urban Hike starts in the Duboce neighborhood and Park and will move up to Buena Vista Park with views of the bay the ocean and the bridge then we’ll go through Haight Street **(Haight street fair)** in the and the Haight-Ashbury district, with bazaar hippie stores, collection of retro clothes stores. The Haight is one of the few neighborhoods that was not hit hard by the 1906 earthquake. As a result, it has the highest concentration of still-intact Victorian homes in the city. We then make a way up to Sutro Mountain Home of Sutro Tower. Millbrae History Walk + Art and Wine Festival

Let's do a bistory walk in Millbrae followed by the outdoor art and wine festival in Millbrae. We will meet at Glen Park BART at 12:30 for a minute at the semi circular benches outside and then head down to the platform to catch the 12:40 train to Millbrae. The train arrives at 1:08 in case anyone wants to meet us there. The festival is only a short walk from BART but we willl do the history part first. Urban Hikers' 14th Anniversary Picnic!

It's time to celebrate 14 Years! Just once a year, we skip the Urban Hiking and get right down to the Happy Hour with an Urban Hikers' Picnic! Let's celebrate the 14th anniversary of this great group with a Sunday late afternoon picnic at Francisco Park. Please bring food and drink and utensils to share. Please note that barbecuing is not allowed at the park. Please state what you are bringing in the comments when RSVPing. Some of us should also bring some cups, plates, napkins and utensils. You may want to bring a chair or something to sit on and items to place food on. The tables may not be available and if so, we will gather on the grass and/or concrete wall. City Hike & Picnic - Glen Canyon & Twin Peaks - 4 miles - Moderately Strenuous

Walk and Share Adventures

**Information** The attendees will be welcome to share stories regarding their adventures, or just listen to those of others. For instance, one of my big adventures was crossing the Sahara Desert in my van. I also trekked up to see the mountain gorillas in Rwanda. We will meet at 11:00am in front of the main entrance to the deYoung Museum. We will leave at 11:15am. From the museum we will walk by Blue Heron Lake to JFK Drive. We'll proceed west on JFK Drive to Hellman Hollow Picnic area. There will be several restrooms along the way, including the museum, as well as Hellman Hollow Picnic area. Note, this is really a walk, rather than a hike. It should be lots of fun! In case the picnic benches are not available be sure to bring something to sit on, such as plastic.
