San Ho Won: Dinner Table for 6 ($30 deposit)

San Ho Won: Dinner Table for 6 ($30 deposit)

Sat, Jul 11, 12:30 AM
From San Francisco Foodies
4.8

San Ho Won is a Michelin-starred Korean restaurant in San Francisco’s Mission District. Chefs Corey Lee and Jeong-In-Hwang mix traditional Korean tastes with a sense of novelty. There are typical barbecue items on the menu cooked over solid lychee wood charcoal that is made specially for the restaurant. The Infatuation has called Sam Ho Won the best Korean restaurant in San Francisco, giving special recognition to their galbi. Eater likes the egg souffle, soups and stews, and their inventive takes on desserts. We’ll be trying the house menu, which is six courses for $118 before drinks, add-ons, tax, and service charge. The whole table must participate, though we can add things on. Note that San Ho Won is largely unable to accommodate dietary restrictions, especially around gluten. If you have a dietary restriction, please message me, and I will see if the restaurant can accommodate it. The deposit will be deducted from what you owe at the event. Drinks and add-ons will be the responsibility of the person(s) who ordered them. Please be prepared to split the check at the event and pay via cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Apple Cash. Taxes and Fees Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%) and the restaurant charges a 20% service charge. Parking and Transportation Muni 27 to Bryant and 20th Street Street parking is possible, closer to 16th Street

Improv Jam Session | Beginner-Friendly Game Day

Improv Jam Session | Beginner-Friendly Game Day

Sun, Jul 19, 9:00 PM
From Have Fun Make Friends SF
4.9

Join us for a fun day of improv games! This is a free, beginner-friendly jam session (not a formal class). We try to get together about once a month and play games. As always, nobody is forced to participate but highly encouraged to jump in and play. **What to expect:** * Improv - short for improvisational theater - is a form of live performance where characters, dialogue, and scenes are created in the moment. * We’ll have a mix of warm-up games, learn about character development, physical comedy, and storytelling. * Depending on audience participation, we’re planning about an 1.5-2 hour session. **Where and when:** * Sunday, June 14th - meeting at 2:00pm, games start at 2:15pm. * William McKinley Monument in NoPa: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gSDmnZA9md6r5orU9 * We’re planning to use the space in front of the monument as our “stage”. If you’re still reading (whoo whoo), here is a Wiki rabbit hole about improv: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Improvisational_theatre Come play some games with us!

Redux: Dim Sum at the Harborview Restaurant & Bar: Table for 8

Redux: Dim Sum at the Harborview Restaurant & Bar: Table for 8

From San Francisco Foodies

Cantonese Dim Sum right on the Embarcadero. This time we are trying to add a whole Peking Duck from the main menu to the DimSum service. [HarborView](https://www.harborviewsf.com/) provides a sophisticated yet unpretentious setting with a stunning view of San Francisco Bay. **Administrative Trivia** Typical shared single plates are <$10 apiece. HK specialities are around $15. Large plates typically around $25. The whole Peking Duck from the [main menu](https://www.harborviewsf.com/menus/#all-day) is $65. [Dim Sum menu](https://www.harborviewsf.com/menus/#dim-sum) for reference. **Taxes and Fees** Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%) and possibly an employee health mandate (5%), a tip (20%) may be automatically added because of the size of our party, even on individual bills. I usually add 33% to each raw bill adding individual dishes, which should include all of these, and round final payment to the closest dollar. Given shared plates, we are likely to just split the bill evenly. Please bring cash or use Zelle or AppleCash. **Parking and Transportation** Muni: 1, 12, 14 BART: Any train to Embarcadero Station Street parking: possible not recommended Underground Parking: [Embarcadero 4 Underground Parking](https://embarcaderocenter.com/parking/) 0-4 Hours: $2 with validation from select retail stores, restaurants, and medical/dental offices with $10 minimum purchase
