Walk for Peace
Sun, Oct 4, 10:00 PMPeace Builders of Orange County is pleased to join Whittier First Friends Church for a community Peace Walk on **Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.** This event is an opportunity to focus on inner calm, compassion, and nonviolence. It is not a protest, but a visual expression of goodwill and peace for our community and around the world. **Event Schedule** * **3:00 p.m.** Poster-making with peace-focused messages * * **3:30 p.m.** Gathering at the meetinghouse peace pole for a brief talk about peace, walk instructions, and sing together. * * **4:00 p.m.** Silent Peace Walk from the meetinghouse to the City Hall peace pole. * * We will progress up Philadelphia to Painter Avenue, and continue on Painter to City Hall, gathering at the peace pole located there. At the city hall peace pole we will hold a time of silence and then conclude with a song. Participants will then be invited to process back to the meetinghouse along Painter together. * Please note: Water and safety monitors will be provided. The walk is 1 mile. Peace Builders of Orange County encourages all who support peace, compassion, and understanding to participate. No running involved. Just a casual, social walk. Bring water if you need it. Around the center loop of GP and around the outer loop of GP. Then we will venture through the neighborhood and back to the Park. At the end of the walk, the humans with the dogs may stay for 15 to 20 minutes to ask questions or get tips on dog behavior. 🙏🏾Space is limited, so **Please (RSVP) only if you’re 100% sure you will attend.** If you (**RSVP)** and don’t show, it is a **🚩Red Flag🚩** for future events—we all appreciate strong reliability and respecting others’ being able to have a spot.🙏🏾 We’ll be **walking until** **around 8:00 PM.** Expect to hit somewhere between **10,000–12,000 steps (approximately 7.5-9 miles),** depending on the pace and group. All sizes and breeds of dogs are welcome to join us for group walks, or meetups, and social gatherings.
