This book club is intended for lesbians and queer women but feel free to bring along any pals/allies who like to read. Our sessions are designed to help players sharpen their technical skills, maintain match fitness, and compete in a fast-paced, good football IQ environment. Coaching, feedback, and mentorship are provided throughout the season to support player development both on and off the field. **Guidelines**: No slide tackles allowed! Make your own calls. Please arrive 15 minutes early! Queer Book Club - Orlando by Virginia Woolf

Hey Everyone! **Welcome to Queer Book Club! We read books about, for and written by queer people! Follow us on Instagram @queer_book_club Our next meetup will be held on Tuesday July 14th at Young Ethel’s in Park Slope BK This month we will be reading Orlando: A Biography, by Virginia Woolf ** Virginia Woolf's Orlando 'The longest and most charming love letter in literature', playfully constructs the figure of Orlando as the fictional embodiment of Woolf's close friend and lover, Vita Sackville-West. Spanning three centuries, the novel opens as Orlando, a young nobleman in Elizabeth's England, awaits a visit from the Queen and traces his experience with first love as England under James I lies locked in the embrace of the Great Frost. At the midpoint of the novel, Orlando, now an ambassador in Constantinople, awakes to find that he is now a woman, and the novel indulges in farce and irony to consider the roles of women in the 18th and 19th centuries. As the novel ends in 1928, a year consonant with full suffrage for women. Orlando, now a wife and mother, stands poised at the brink of a future that holds new hope and promise for women. **At the end of the discussion we can vote on which book we read for next month so bring a queer suggestion. Make sure to support our amazing host bar, by buying drinks! They are so great to support us so we must do our part in return! 7 AM Ready - Asphalt Green (UPPER EAST SIDE)

This game is INTERMEDIATE - meaning it's a fun kickaround with a mix of skill levels but all players have experience. It's great for anyone looking for a quality game with laid-back people in a no-pressure environment. Not for beginners. Please show up early so we can kick the game off in time. Please bring a WHITE and DARK T shirt so we can divide up teams. Format and Rules: • Games are full field with 2 teams of 10 players, rotating goalkeepers, and full-sized nets. Everyone gets equal playing time and no one sits on the sidelines (unless you want a break). • Feel Good games means that we don't play to win - we play to get a great workout, enjoy the friendly competition, and maybe even show off some skills :) • No slide tackles or rough challenges allowed and no barking at other players. The goal is have a great game and leave with good vibes. • As guests of Asphalt Green we must act responsibly at all times. **How to get a spot:** 1. Sign up here on Meetup 2. Please Venmo or Zelle your $7 by Friday 8 am or you risk losing your spot to people who may be on waitlist. @Eduapo or eddyaponte28@gmail.com 3. In order to receive refund and/or credit, cancellation must be done by 8AM Friday, 24 hrs prior to game day. Any cancellations after that will not be honored with credit or refund. This laid back game is great for people with prior playing experience. It's for those with varying skill levels looking to play in a relaxed environment, improve their skills, try out new things, or anyone just looking for a laid-back game with chill vibes. A few grounds rules and guidance: 1\. No slide tackles of any kind\, we're here to have fun and get some exercise\, no trophies being given at the end\. 2\. Call your own fouls and respect the fouls\, it may not be a perfect call\, it may be 50/50 but we don't have separate refs or can afford VAR\, so please respect the calls and play on\. 3\.
