A Place Where Somebody Understands

A Place Where Somebody Understands

Wed, Aug 26, 9:30 AM
From Community Mental Health Support – Maroondah–Whitehorse

Everyone knows that there is a serious mental health problem in the community. I am looking for practical ways to try and do something about it. This is an informal community mental health support group based on lived experience. People with mental health concerns, carers, parents, friends etc are all welcome. There is no set agenda and no pressure to speak. You are welcome to share your experiences, ask questions, or just sit and listen. The evening is simply an opportunity to meet others in a respectful, supportive environment where people are listened to and privacy and confidentiality are respected. Just bring yourself. There is nothing you need to prepare. If you're attending for the first time, just come in and introduce yourself. I'll be there to welcome you.
