🎉 2nd Anniversary Picnic – Two Fantastic Folding Years 🧺
Sun, Aug 23, 1:00 PMIn late August 2024, a tiny Berlin origami meetup quietly came to life... Since then, hundreds of folds, chats, experiments, collaborations, and spontaneous moments later… here we are marching towards our **SECOND anniversary** already!! 🤩 To mark this occasion, we are gonna throw a relaxed summer celebration at **Volkspark Friedrichshain**, powered by sunshine, blankets, snacks and good vibes!! 🧺☀️ The final location is not yet finalised, but the spirit of the day is simply bringing people together and celebrating the past two years together! 🤗 A simple agenda for your reference: 1. **Bring and share whatever you like** – food, drinks, cutlery, music gears, card games, or extra paper. No rules – the sky is the limit! 2. **Gather and set up a cozy picnic spot together** – if you own a picnic blanket, please bring one along! 3. **A moment to look back & ahead** – community storytelling, memories and reflections, hopes for the year ahead (surprises and chaos might be included, but that's part of the fun, right? 👀) 4. **(Optional) Origami show time** – bring your favorite model, tell us the story behind it, share folding tips and/or replicas with the group! And truly: thank you for helping shape this community into such a welcoming, creative, and alive little corner of Berlin. Every person who attended an event, taught a fold, hosted a meetup, helped newcomers, or simply spent an afternoon folding with us became part of this story. More details coming soon — but for now, save some space in your calendar for a very special summer gathering 🥳 Warm greetings to each and everyone of you, Shiyi

Symphony of Colors: Paul Signac — Brunch, Lecture & Museum Visit
Wed, Aug 12, 9:30 AMJoin us for a full cultural day out in Potsdam — a guided visit to the brand new Signac exhibition at Museum Barberini, paired with an art lecture and brunch. Museum Barberini has just opened Symphony of Colors: Paul Signac and Neo-Impressionism — an exhibition tracing Signac's journey from early waterside landscapes to his sun-drenched visions of the Côte d'Azur. Around thirty works by Signac are shown alongside paintings by Seurat, Pissarro, Cross, and others, with loans from the Musée d'Orsay, the Van Gogh Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, and more. Before we visit the exhibition, we'll start with brunch and a short art lecture where I'll introduce Signac, his friendship with Seurat, and how they invented a completely new way of painting — building images from pure colour, dot by dot. 📋 Agenda 🥐 Brunch together 🎨 Art lecture: Signac, Seurat, and the birth of Neo-Impressionism 🖼️ Museum visit: Symphony of Colors exhibition + the permanent Impressionist collection (including 40 Monets) 📅 Date & Time: Friday, 12.07 · 11:30 📍 Location: The exact location of the brunch place will be announced 24 hours before the event 💶 Participation Fee: 15 EUR(museum entry not included — tickets available at the museum) 📌 RSVP required — intimate group, spots are limited. To keep the group intimate and allow for conversation, spaces are limited. Please cancel if you can't attend so someone else may join. ⏰ Respect & Punctuality: Please arrive on time and be mindful of the group. ✅ Event Info & FAQ 🕐 How long will it last? The full experience runs approximately 3–3.5 hours, including brunch, lecture, and museum visit. 💶 Payment — How do I pay? The participation fee is paid on the day, in cash or PayPal. Museum entry is paid separately at the museum. If your plans change, please update your status to "Not Going" so someone on the waiting list can take your spot. 🙏 🚆 How do I get there? Museum Barberini is in Potsdam, about 30-40 minutes from Berlin by S-Bahn or regional train. 🥐 Can I join only for brunch or only for the museum? No — it's one full shared experience. ❗ What if I show up without signing up? Unfortunately a spot can't be guaranteed. Only confirmed RSVPs are accepted. ✨ Meet Yuliya, the founder of Berlin Ladies Art Culture — a growing community of over 2,000 women passionate about art, culture, and meaningful connection. 🎨 Curated Gallery Walk – Thomas Schulte, Eigen+Art & Serpen Gallery
Sat, Aug 15, 10:15 AMJoin us for a special curated afternoon exploring 3 contemporary galleries in Mitte! At each stop, our small group will enjoy a private tour hosted by the gallery's representatives, followed by wine and bites to close. ✨ **Agenda:** 🖼️ **Galerie Thomas Schulte – RICHARD DEACON: Just Looking** Step into a solo exhibition of new ceramic sculptures and prints by the British artist Richard Deacon. Working between glazed ceramics, digital prints and painted steel, Deacon plays with surface and volume so that each piece shifts between rough and smooth, grounded and precarious — nothing quite settles into one reading. 🖼️ **Galerie Eigen+Art – CIHAN ÇAKMAK: breaking is reflection** Discover the first solo exhibition at the gallery by Berlin-based artist Cihan Çakmak. Working across photography, drawing and text, Çakmak brings together early and recent images that explore identity, memory and self-image — always held in the tension between closeness and distance. 🖼️ **Serpen Gallery – STEFAN STOIKOV & VALERIIA OSINA: Rainbow Limbo** Stoikov turns to mythology, reimagining familiar ancient stories through a contemporary lens — his goddesses wear modern clothes, and his Europa seems more interested in enjoying a day on roller skates than escaping the bull. Alongside Osina's work, the show trades drama for confidence, humor and optimism. 🍷 Wine and bites to close, together as a group. 📍 **Meeting Point:** Galerie Thomas Schulte, Charlottenstraße 24, Berlin 📅 **Date & Time:** Saturday, 15.08 at 12:15 💶 **Participation Fee:** €20 – private curator tours at each gallery, plus wine and bites to close. **To confirm your spot, payment is required in advance** — I'll send the payment link after you RSVP. ⚠️ **Limited Spots:** Due to high interest, we now limit the number of participants to ensure a great experience. Only confirmed and paid RSVPs will hold a spot — if you can't make it, please cancel so someone on the waiting list can join. ⏰ **Respect & Punctuality:** Please arrive on time and be respectful of the group and the spaces we visit. Let's make it a beautiful shared experience! 📌 **RSVP Required!** Looking forward to exploring Berlin's art scene with you 🌿🎨 *** ✅ **Event Info & FAQ** **🕐 How long will it last?** The full experience runs approximately 3 hours, including the wine and bites close. **💶 Payment — How do I pay?** To confirm your participation, please complete payment via the link I'll send you after signing up. Please note this event has limited capacity, so advance payment is required to guarantee your spot — payment on the day isn't possible. **🥐 Can I join only part of the route?** No — it's one full shared experience across all three galleries. **❗ What if I show up without signing up?** Unfortunately a spot can't be guaranteed. Only confirmed RSVPs are accepted. *** ✨ This walk is hosted and curated by Julia, founder of Berlin Ladies Art Culture — a growing community of over 2,000 women passionate about art, culture, and meaningful connection.
