Columbus Lines in Motion: Sketching Basics

Tue, Oct 27, 6:00 PM
From New Artists Exploring Lines And Shapes

If you have ever wanted to learn the fundamentals of drawing but were not sure where to start, this session is for you. We are getting together for Columbus Lines in Motion to practice the basics of sketching, focusing on how to translate what we see into lines and shapes on the page. This is a low-pressure environment meant for those of us who are just beginning our artistic journey and want to build a little confidence in a supportive, shared space. We will spend the time working on some simple exercises, talking through basic techniques, and just getting comfortable with our sketchbooks. You do not need to bring anything fancy—just a pencil, a piece of paper, and a willingness to make a few marks. Whether you are looking to pick up a new hobby or just want to connect with others who are also learning the ropes, we would love to have you join us. If this sounds like the kind of relaxed practice you are looking for, please go ahead and RSVP so we can get an idea of who is coming. We look forward to sketching with you.

Columbus Sketching Souls and Growing Minds

Thu, Oct 29, 10:30 PM
From Artistic Spirits Sketching And Growing Together

I would love to invite you to our next Columbus Sketching Souls and Growing Minds gathering. This is a relaxed, informal space for anyone who enjoys picking up a pencil or brush, regardless of whether you are a seasoned artist or just starting to experiment with drawing. We find that the best creative breakthroughs happen when we step away from our individual workspaces and spend time sketching in the company of others who appreciate the process of learning and evolving. We usually spend our time sharing techniques, talking about our current projects, and simply enjoying the quiet focus that comes with drawing together. The goal is to build a supportive community where we can grow our skills and share ideas without any pressure to produce a finished masterpiece. If you are looking for a friendly group to share your artistic journey with, please come by and join us. We have plenty of room for new faces, so if you are interested, please RSVP so we can get a good idea of how many people to expect.

Columbus Sketching the Streets Weekly Social

Wed, Oct 28, 3:00 PM
From The Neighborhood Sketchers Weekly Social Meetup

We are meeting up this week for our regular sketching session to capture a bit of Columbus on paper. Whether you are a seasoned artist or someone who just likes to doodle in a notebook, this is a low-pressure space to get outside, observe our surroundings, and spend some time drawing alongside others. We do not have a formal instructor, so feel free to bring whatever supplies you are comfortable with and work at your own pace. The goal is simply to get out of the house and connect with people in the neighborhood who share an interest in sketching. We will spend about an hour or so working on our drawings, followed by a chance to share what we have worked on if you feel like it, or just chat and grab a drink or a snack afterward. It is a casual group, and everyone is welcome to join regardless of their skill level. If you are planning to come by, please take a moment to click the RSVP button so I know how many people to look for when I arrive. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new ones this week.
