Join us for our August gathering of The Pause Collective as we explore what happens when burnout, life's responsibilities, and the changes of perimenopause or menopause leave us feeling disconnected from the things that once brought us joy. For many neurodivergent women, special interests are more than hobbies—they're a source of creativity, comfort, curiosity, and self-expression. Yet during seasons of stress, caregiving, work, or burnout, they can quietly fade into the background. This month, we'll gently explore what has lit us up in the past, what we're curious about now, and how we might reconnect with the parts of ourselves that have been waiting patiently for our attention. This will be a relaxed, low-pressure meetup focused on connection and conversation. No need to prepare anything. No pressure to share. Siobhan Wolf Shaffer is an ordained spiritualist minister and certified medium and healer with over 20 years experience. Columbus Museum of Art, Free Admission Sundays

Let’s meet and wander the galleries! General admission on Sundays is free. We'll be meeting in the sculpture garden area at the meeting time, which is just outside the cafe area by the main entry. When you approach the front desk/main entry area there will be some seating just outside the cafe area. If you can meet us there by 11:15 we'll head into the gallery area as a group, but if you arrive after that time feel free to message us through the meetup app, and we'll do our best to connect you with the group!

We will begin with short, gestural poses and gradually move onto longer ones. Beginner level instruction will be provided by a local queer artist for those who would like it. This event is 18+, and all skill levels welcome. Figure drawing isn’t just a tradition for classical artists - it’s a rewarding way to connect with the human body. When going to a live figure drawing session, it’s not always disclosed what kind of model the artists will be working with. Given today’s political landscape, OFAM and WQC are creating space for artists to work with the trans body. This event is good for anyone who wishes to hone their skills, diversify their subject matter, or simply enjoy introspective, meditative sketching. Bring your own materials: easel and drawing pad, sketchbook and color pencils, watercolor set up, anything that doesn’t require excessive ventilation or other special accommodations. BYOB if you’re 21+ as well! We will cover model etiquette and there will be scheduled breaks throughout. Seating/tables and tabletop easels will also be provided.
