Trans Figure Drawing

[Sign up here!](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/trans-figure-drawing-workshop-18-tickets-1997514174668?aff=oddtdtcreator) Join us for Trans Figure Drawing, a live figure-drawing session featuring trans models provided by the Westerville Queer Collective (WQC) and the Ohio Feminist Art Museum (OFAM). We will begin with short, gestural poses and gradually move onto longer ones. Beginner level instruction will be provided by a local queer artist for those who would like it. This event is 18+, and all skill levels welcome. Figure drawing isn’t just a tradition for classical artists - it’s a rewarding way to connect with the human body. When going to a live figure drawing session, it’s not always disclosed what kind of model the artists will be working with. Given today’s political landscape, OFAM and WQC are creating space for artists to work with the trans body. This event is good for anyone who wishes to hone their skills, diversify their subject matter, or simply enjoy introspective, meditative sketching. Bring your own materials: easel and drawing pad, sketchbook and color pencils, watercolor set up, anything that doesn’t require excessive ventilation or other special accommodations. BYOB if you’re 21+ as well! We will cover model etiquette and there will be scheduled breaks throughout. Seating/tables and tabletop easels will also be provided. Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them

This is an in-person meeting. Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance. Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you. The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life. For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues. So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them? That is what this meeting will be all about. Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life. Neurospicy Joins Poetry Open Mic at Kafe Kerouac

Join us as we attend Kafe Kerouac's public Poetry Open Mic. Hear local poets and/or share your own words! Poetry Open Mic starts at 8pm. Please arrive no later than 7:30pm. $5.00 cover to get in. ASH UU - Laura Savage

Atheists-Skeptics-Humanists (ASH) Monthly Meeting will feature Laura Savage, Executive Director of the Ohio Art League, the nation's oldest member-run art organization (founded in 1909 by 40 students of the Columbus Art School - now CCAD). Laura will talk about the League's ongoing mission, its importance to the Columbus art scene, some of the current exhibitions, future plans, and how we can all become patrons of the arts. ASH UU meets at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of most months, in Rm. 301 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., unless that month's meeting has been canceled.

Columbus Museum of Art, Free Admission Sundays

Let’s meet and wander the galleries! General admission on Sundays is free. We'll be meeting in the sculpture garden area at the meeting time, which is just outside the cafe area by the main entry. When you approach the front desk/main entry area there will be some seating just outside the cafe area. If you can meet us there by 11:15 we'll head into the gallery area as a group, but if you arrive after that time feel free to message us through the meetup app, and we'll do our best to connect you with the group!

The Completely Series - (P.M.) Gallery Hop/Short North - Field Shoot

Gallery Hop / Short North Photo walk and street shooting. OSU is playing Ball State at home at 12:30 pm so many fans may come to the Short North to celebrate. We typically walk North on one side of the street under we reach Standard Hall where we stop for a break...can you say food and drink?....and then make our way back south on the other side of the street. These events on the schedule are to serve three purposes: 1. These will serve as field shoots targeted at The Completely 2. Series homework. Generally, each of these shoots will focus on the homework assigned in the two prior weeks. So locations and topics will be picked to match those expectations. 3. Additionally, these events are to serve as placeholders for TIME OF DAY. They are intended to be modified as needed to capture SUNSET and/or EVENING light. They will likely be modified to time out for the IDEAL light on that day, at that location. EXPECT THEM TO BE MODIFIED as the time of year changes and/or schedule conflicts occur. But THERE WILL BE at least one evening shoot per month. 4. Lastly, they are also to serve as semi-monthly evening shoots for the group as a whole. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE IN THE COMPLETELY SERIES to attend any of these morning field shoots. Locations and specifics will be updated as the event date approaches.

Silent Disco!

**Silent Discos** are popping up all around Downtown. Flip through stations of chart-toppers and hot hits while dancing to the beat at outdoor block parties. **How it works**: You grab some headphones and find the tune that moves you and...move. The silly part is, your friend may be on a different channel (and moving to a different beat)! [The Junto](https://thejuntohotel.com/) is a fav spot to gather. Rooftop bar. Open air bar streetside. Lobby for lounging. Come by early for Easy Hour - discounted drinks and apps **Parking**: drive around the block to find *street parking* or *lots near COSI*. Parking garages under the condo units are great but usually $20 for events.
