We are getting together in Columbus to break down the techniques behind effective character immersion. Whether you are a veteran player looking to refine your portrayal or someone new to the hobby who wants to feel more confident in a costume, this session will focus on the practical side of developing a persona that feels grounded and consistent. We will spend our time covering physical presence, voice work, and the mental framing required to stay in character when things get hectic. This is a low-pressure environment meant for shared learning, so expect a mix of brief demonstrations and open discussion. We want to help you build a toolkit that makes your next experience more engaging for both you and the people you play with. **Is there a version of your next chapter you haven't let yourself imagine yet?** Most of us have thought plenty about the practical side of what's ahead — but far fewer of us have actually sat down and thought about the rest of it: who we are without the roles that used to define our days, what we're genuinely curious about, who we want in our corner for this next stretch. I'm hosting **The Unwritten Chapter**, a 60-minute interactive workshop just for members of this group. You'll take a short, private self-assessment (no one sees your score but you), have a couple of real conversations in small groups, and leave with some honest clarity. It's not a lecture. It's not about finances. It's the conversation most of us never get to have out loud. Space is limited so it stays a real conversation, not a big room of strangers.

Contra dance with Big Scioty on Sept. 5 - First Congregational Church

**Caller: River Abel** **Band: Raven & Goose** **Big Scioty Contra Dance** **First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus 43215** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. The Completely Series - (P.M.) Gallery Hop/Short North - Field Shoot

Gallery Hop / Short North Photo walk and street shooting. OSU is playing Ball State at home at 12:30 pm so many fans may come to the Short North to celebrate. We typically walk North on one side of the street under we reach Standard Hall where we stop for a break...can you say food and drink?....and then make our way back south on the other side of the street. These events on the schedule are to serve three purposes: 1. These will serve as field shoots targeted at The Completely 2. Series homework. Generally, each of these shoots will focus on the homework assigned in the two prior weeks. So locations and topics will be picked to match those expectations. 3. Additionally, these events are to serve as placeholders for TIME OF DAY. They are intended to be modified as needed to capture SUNSET and/or EVENING light. They will likely be modified to time out for the IDEAL light on that day, at that location. EXPECT THEM TO BE MODIFIED as the time of year changes and/or schedule conflicts occur. But THERE WILL BE at least one evening shoot per month. 4. Lastly, they are also to serve as semi-monthly evening shoots for the group as a whole. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE IN THE COMPLETELY SERIES to attend any of these morning field shoots. Locations and specifics will be updated as the event date approaches.
