Sketch Wagner Park!

Sketch Wagner Park!

Sat, Sep 19, 3:00 PM
From Central Park Sketching & Art Meetup Group
4.8

The recently renovated Robert F. Wagner park is perfectly situated for sweeping views of the bay, Ellis Island, and Statue of Liberty. Let's hang out in the park and draw! **We'll meet at the south entrance to the park, by Little W St and Battery Place.** Any problems on the day of the event, I can be reached at 646-831-9816. Looking forward to sketching with you! *** IMPORTANT: In case of rain, I will let people know early in the morning if it is canceled, and then reschedule for another day. *** What makes our Meetups different from other art groups and classes? There's no instruction, but we like to share our work, and chat and be inspired. Share tips and learn from people in a casual environment where all levels of artists are welcome! Don't be shy to ask anyone anything! • We sketch for a bit, usually 45 minutes or so, and then get back together and share our drawings, and then sketch again, etc. There's usually time for 3 sketches. • Please bring your own supplies - anything you like to work with - pens, pencil, watercolor, pastel, small sketchbook or large paper, iPad, whatever suits you. • We hand out nametags so everyone can meet one another! • We take photos to share on the site later. Take a bunch! • Sorry, but please leave the dogs at home; they tend to step on the artwork. Thanks. • The Meetup is FREE and everyone at all skill levels is welcome! *** Please note that if you add a comment below it will spam everyone with an email, so please use your judgment.

We're fascinated with how the body works, and we feel like you just might be too. We work with models who have a physical practice: boxers, climbers, dancers, lifters, athletes. Poses are directed to put the body's mechanics on display. This event is hosted by Dan Boterashvili of Harvest Strength Training, a personal trainer and visual artist, alongside Alexander Singer, community engagement professional and bartender. Bring your favorite materials and drawing/painting supplies. We will also be providing basic materials and a limited amount of drawing boards. **Every experience level welcome, first-timers welcomed.** **Doors open at 6:40pm. Poses run 7:00–9:30pm**, from short gestures to long holds. Stick around after to share work and meet other artists. Note: Doors will be kept open until 7:15. If for some reason you are delayed please reach out to @bodiesofworkdrawing on Instagram and we will come downstairs to let you in. We have a **STRICT NO PHOTO** policy while the model is posing. Keep your phones in your bag or keep them pointed away from the model. If you see someone photographing the model please inform either Dan or Alexander and we will handle it. Tickets are nonrefundable after purchase. If a session is canceled by Bodies of Work, ticket holders will be offered a refund or transfer to another session. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* [Purchase Tickets here, $27 (use discount code PREVIEW)](https://calendly.com/harveststrength/bodies-of-work-figure-drawing) \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*
