AI, Art & Vibecoding - StrangeNew.World @ 310 Coffee

AI, Art & Vibecoding - StrangeNew.World @ 310 Coffee

Fri, Jul 17, 10:00 PM
From AI, Art & Vibecoding - StrangeNew.World
5.0

We frame ourselves as **"a support group for the technological singularity"** and we are an eclectic mix of open-minded thinkers, artists, and tinkerers who believe in embracing the emerging technologies and capabilities in the most humanitarian way possible. Our meetings have a super casual and open atmosphere where all are welcome to contribute. Feel free to come late or leave early. So whether you're an AI enthusiast or skeptic, a creative professional already using AI on the daily, or someone just starting their first vibe coding project, this group may be for you! **NOW NEW & IMPROVED (Until the end of summer!)** We are doing "Hack-a-salons" after every meeting (starting at 5pm) now that 310 Coffee is staying open later. So please bring your laptops or art projects, or works in progress that you have questions on or want to present to the group. No podiums... only passion projects, good people and great vibes! ☺️ **What to Expect** Interesting conversations, relevant content, and educational resources. We are a diverse community of people who want to help each other and the world around us. We meet in person once a week at **310 Coffee in Culver City from 3-5pm**, we share our work and interesting news in our Whatsapp group, put on remote Learning Labs, go to events together, and encourage our members (who have the availability) to participate in a learning collective where we can volunteer to give each other one-on-one crash courses in various artistic, technical, and entrepreneurial disciplines. Here is a list of what we can teach: [https://strangenew.world/labs/what-we-know](https://strangenew.world/labs/what-we-know) We also encourage each of our members to take on a Passion Project, which could be as simple as getting up and running with a new artistic medium or project, or as complex as laying the groundwork for your dream business or career. We believe there has never been a better time (at least in OUR lifetimes) to set your sights on what your ideal life would be two years from now and then just start moving toward it. And maybe we can help you do that by giving you the hand-holding you need to get over that first hump, which can sometimes be the most difficult part. **How to Give Back** If you are a member looking to give back, or if you like what our organization is doing, then please follow, subscribe, rate us, and smash that like! 🤣 I know it seems silly to many of you, but in the attention economy, just the act of following us, liking our posts, and reviewing our events can make a huge difference in how the algorithm shines upon us. Also, if you would like to support us in a more direct way, please consider giving us a one-time donation, subscribing to one of our tiers, or sponsoring us. We pay for a lot of stuff out of pocket, so please consider becoming a patron to support the overall longevity of our group and vision. [https://strangenew.world/support-us](https://strangenew.world/support-us) **More Information** What we explore during our meetings really depends on who shows up and what they want to discuss: * The changing job market. What skills will matter in 10 years * The future of business and the creative industries * Chatbots, LLMs, and Agentic Workflows * Using AI for scientific or artistic exploration * Will generative art destroy Hollywood or save it? * What is consciousness? What constitutes intelligence? * The various types/platforms of vibecoding and which is best for your project * The end of capitalism as we know it * Are we entering the 2nd Cognitive Revolution? **Learn more at: [https://strangenew.world](https://strangenew.world)**

We can enjoy our picnic together before the concert starts. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket, and food & beverage for our picnic! It will get very crowded! It’s NOT a large concert space. **⚠️Look for the MEETUP SIGN near the stage.** **CONCERT LOCATION** The concert takes place on the lawn BEHIND Brand Library & Art Center. Picnic on the grassy hillsides. Performances run 60 - 90 minutes without intermission. **PARKING AT BRAND PARK** Take the driveway road up the hill towards the library. Once you reach the top bare to the left and park. Follow the road by foot to the REAR of the library and art galleries. **BRAND PARK & LIBRARY** Brand Park & Library is a *true hidden gem* located in North Glendale. Crowds are much smaller than other park concert series with a more intimate setting making it truly enjoyable to attend! See the Photo Gallery for park photos (including vintage photos) and fantastic park reviews! **If you have time come extra early and enjoy the interior of the Library & Art Center- former estate of Leslie C. Brand. They close on Fridays at 5PM.** **5:30 PM (optional) PRE-CONCERT PICNIC TAKE-OUT AT KENNETH VILLAGE** 1417 W. Kenneth Rd. Glendale Corner of Kenneth Rd & Grandview. Brand Park is straight up the hill on Grandview. I’ll be stopping at Kenneth Village just down the street from Brand Park (1 minute drive) to pickup a sandwich to take to the concert. I love **Coffee Commissary**\- my go\-to fave neighborhood sandwiches\. They are delicious\!\! **George’s Cucina Italiana** has delicious pizza & pasta! If you like Mexican, **Tacos Desvelados** is really popular. If you are not in the mood for dinner you might want to just make a quick stop for DELICIOUS organic vegan frozen yogurt at **Yoga-urt** or **Aviator** right next door or **Village French Bakery** across the street for a yummy pastry. It’s a short one-block Village with a few eateries to choose from. **KENNETH VILLAGE EATERIES** **Coffee Commissary 4.3** **🤩** Small menu but all sandwiches are EXCELLENT. Neighborhood WiFi hangout! They also have ice cream, gelato, pastries, chocolates & shaved ice! Note: Yelp reviews say service is very slow and menu items are pricey. Give yourself plenty of time if ordering. **Ladies Who Adore Vintage LA ❤️ is both an educational & socialization group. You always get the history and backstory.** **ABOUT BRAND PARK & LIBRARY** *Brand Park is a very special park rich in history. For those of you who would like to learn more...* The legacy of Leslie Combs Brand is both remarkable and fascinating. He was an integral part in the founding and development of Glendale, hence, why Brand Blvd and the Americana at Brand were named after him. Like every interesting character in history there are many stories to be told including dark secrets. Here’s two very interesting articles on Leslie C. Brand. If you love L.A. history like I do you may want to view this lengthy documentary which discusses Brand’s many accomplishments and contributions to Glendale and Los Ángeles. Brand was a very good friend of Edwards Huntington of Pasadena (often referred to as Henry E. Huntington). He was a railroad magnate, real estate developer. Together they ventured in several business deals. **History of Brand Park & Library** [https://www.brandlibrary.org/history](https://www.brandlibrary.org/history) **Fascinating article about Leslie C.
