How do you eat an elephant?
Sun, Aug 23, 9:00 PMIf you know the answer to this riddle, then you might be able to figure out the topic. Let's talk about incrementalism and how it works - and doesn't work - in politics and life. Some examples of it not working include the American Revolution and the Civil War. Where it has worked are smoking and saving the ozone layer. But there are myriad examples to illustrate every side of any situation. But a few that I have in mind are gun control, universal healthcare and the national debt (not deficit). Why does it work in some instances and not in others? Is there a point in society where a revolution - and not evolution - takes priority? This could be a fun topic for a lazy summer afternoon, so I hope to see you there and bring any thoughts you have to contribute. Shouild be fun! As always, update your RSVP and don't forget the one dollar event fee. Todd 310-379-6771

Spicy Dogs Club - Led by Tully's Trainers (East Hollywood)
Sun, Aug 23, 8:00 PM**🌶️🌶️🐾 Spicy Dogs Club – Real World Training Group** Led weekly by Shakinah from Tully’s Training Life doesn’t happen in a training class—it happens out in the world. This small group is designed to give reactive (“spicy”) dogs and their humans the chance to practice skills together in real-life settings, like moving through a busy market or park. You’ll get hands-on coaching, structured exercises, and the support of a community that understands. This location is **MEDIUM/HOT!** 🌶 🌶 Best for spicy dogs ready to level up their training around real-world distractions — think busy walkways, other leashed dogs, loud sounds, kids on the move, with some open spaces. This class is unique for our spicy clubs as we will have a rotating group of our talented Tully's trainers teaching this location. If your dog is working on being comfortable around new people, this class is for you! **Agenda:** * 👋 Welcome & introductions * 🎯 Structured reactivity exercises to build confidence and neutrality * 💬 Q&A + discussion: homework, common challenges, and shared strategies **What to Bring:** * 🐶 Your dog (on a secure, non-retractable leash and flat collar or harness) * 💧 Water for you and your pup * 🍖 A mix of treats (don’t forget some *high-value* ones for tough moments) * 🎒 Treat bag (super handy, but not required) **How to Find Us:** We'll meet at the far corner of the first parking lot you come to, then we will do a structured sniff walk up to a safe open space for training. If you are late or have trouble finding us please text or call Shakinah 406-366-4349 **Additional Info:** * You'll need to purchase one entry 'ticket' per dog. Cost is not per person. * You'll need to be approved by a TT team member before this class. We will reach out to you if needed. **Participant Waiver & Acknowledgment** By joining the **The Spicy Dogs Club**, you acknowledge and agree to the following: * Participation is voluntary and at your own risk. * **Tully’s Training, the Spicy Dogs Club, and any affiliated partners, sponsors, or venues** are not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses to you, your dog(s), or your property during the event. * You accept full responsibility for the behavior, safety, and control of your dog(s) at all times. * You confirm your dog is healthy, up to date on vaccinations, and does not pose a threat to other dogs or people. * By attending, you grant **Tully’s Training and the Spicy Dogs Club** permission to use any photos or videos taken during the event for marketing or promotional purposes. * You agree to receive event-related reminder emails and text messages and may be added to Tully’s Training’s mailing list for future updates—you can unsubscribe anytime. **Your participation in the Spicy Dogs Club constitutes your understanding and acceptance of this waiver.**

And while 15,000 or 20,000 steps would be great, they also require more time. So to make it fun and manageable, we’re starting with 10k steps as a challenge—and we may increase the goal in future events. **THE IMPORTANT POINTS ARE THESE;** Space is limited, so **please RSVP only if you’re 100% sure you’ll attend.** 🙏🏾If you RSVP and don’t show, you will be 🚩Red Flagged 🚩for future events—we all appreciate reliability and respect for others' abilities to get a spot to walk!🙏🏾 Expect to hit somewhere between **10,000–12,000 steps (approximately 7.5-9 miles),** depending on the pace and group. This **midweek walking event** is going really well. So, let’s **stay active together** and **make this a Strong part of our routine.** **See You There.** [COMMENT BELOW IF YOU ARE IN AGREEMENT] **NOW IS THE TIME, LET’S GET TO WALKING;** Btw. Yes, Lacy Park allows dogs. However, they must be on a leash and it will be your own responsibility. No running involved. Just a casual, social walk. Bring water if you need it. **Free street parking is available in the surrounding areas. Please avoid parking inside the park lot, as the gates may close before we finish our walk.** **Park closes at dusk so I strongly advise against parking inside any of the lots. Just drive around, and you can easily find free open parking spaces.** **Lacy Park is located at 1485 Virginia Road, San Marino, CA 91108**
