Happy Father's Day to all the good dads, step-dads, paternal guardians & foster parents, etc. I'm currently in Denver this weekend, and yesterday, we stopped by Rocky Mountain National Park for a quick drive / visit, and it was so nostalgic to be out in nature again (after a 3 year absence). Another group member messaged me yesterday regarding 4th of July weekend, so I'm sorry I've procrastinated so long in posting something. - My apologies this is short notice... I'm planning on going to Glacier National Park in Montana between July 3 - 10. If I can get everything ready in time, I might go to a Canadian National Park called Waterton Lakes National Park around July 1 - 2. I'm perfectly fine with going solo...I need the peace and quiet after working with kids and volunteering with kids throughout the country. Plus, it's really short / late notice, so I don't anticipate anyone else joining for Glacier. [https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/33118523](https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/33118523) [https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/33414566](https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/33414566/) I'll have limited phone / internet / email access in early July, but I'll try to check occasionally, every few days or so. - So yeah, gas prices are high and inflation is daunting for many -- so my expectations are low...but if anyone has the time and desire, feel free to lmk if you want to join for Grand Teton and/or Yellowstone. Dates are flexible and open to your schedule...meaning, you're willing to arrive & leave whenever fits your schedule. I have a campsite reserved inside Grand Teton NP between July 13 - 16 and Yellowstone NP between July 17 - 22 [https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/32044981](https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/32044981) [https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/32048661](https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/32048661) [https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/32382009](https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/32382009) I also have a campsite for July 23 - 25, but I might need to fly to New York to volunteer for another children's camp at the end of July, so I'm tentatively thinking of staying until July 22, 23, or 24. Oh, and if anyone is interested and has time, I highly recommend checking out a Native American Pow Wow in Browning, Montana on either July 11 or 12. [https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/32630790](https://www.meetup.com/la_camping/photos/32630790) Okay, that's it for now. I'll try to add more when I return from Denver. * Drive time is around 14 - 15 hours from OC - [https://goo.gl/maps/uBiaNxgRX4xkqhWf7](https://goo.gl/maps/uBiaNxgRX4xkqhWf7) LA - [https://goo.gl/maps/JdNPrrTGzD1DBEXE7](https://goo.gl/maps/JdNPrrTGzD1DBEXE7) Note: If checking the route now (before summer), the estimated time might be longer due to road closures due to winter...so change the departure date to the summer, and the estimate drive time should be shorter. *** *** *** *** Frequently asked questions

Meetup connects people through shared interests. Whether you're into camping, hiking, or other activities, it helps people discover and join groups to participate in events and meet new friends locally or online.

Simply search for camping on the Meetup platform while specifying the Los Angeles area. You'll find a list of groups and upcoming events related to camping where you can RSVP to participate.

Yes, Los Angeles has various camping groups. These groups organize events and trips for people who enjoy outdoor adventures, allowing you to easily find fellow enthusiasts to camp with.

Absolutely, you can join as many camping groups as you like. This allows you to expand your network, participate in diverse camping trips, and meet more people who share your passion.

Meetup is free to join and browse groups. Some groups may charge fees for events, particularly if they involve costs like equipment rental or location fees. Always check event details for any costs involved.

No, you don't have to commit to all trips. RSVP only for those you are interested in, allowing you flexibility to fit your schedule and camping preferences. This way, you can enjoy trips at your own pace.

RSVPing is easy; just find your desired event and click to register your attendance. Ensure to read any detailed instructions or necessary equipment lists provided by the event organizer.

Availability of secluded camping trips depends on the group and their planned activities. Some organizers focus on remote locations, while others might choose more accessible camping sites.

Meetup focuses primarily on group activities rather than personal matchmaking. It's about community engagement and finding group events that match your interests rather than forming specific individual connections.

The quality of organization can vary depending on the host. Some events might have professional guides, while others are more casually led. It's wise to check reviews and past event feedback before joining.

Meeting friends depends on active participation and engagement in Meetup events. While the platform can connect you with like-minded individuals, forming friendships relies on your involvement and social interaction.

Yes, some camping groups specifically cater to families, offering events suitable for all ages. These events often include child-friendly activities and settings, making them perfect for family adventures.

Certainly! If you can't find a group that meets your camping interests, you can start your own and build a community around your preferred camping style or destinations, attracting like-minded peers.

Sometimes last-minute trips are announced, but it's common for popular events to fill up fast. Regularly checking Meetup for new postings can help you snag those last-minute adventurous opportunities.

While Meetup hosts a variety of groups, not every specific interest might be covered. There's an opportunity to either join existing groups close to your interest or create a new one to meet your needs.
