This program exists only because of you! We can always use the help. We've been invited to host the students from our very own Hoboken Arts Camp. They've been spending this week learning all about the Hudson River, now we get to help them experience it first hand. \*Prepare the sit on tops \*Teach participants to to kayak \*Have fun with some great kids! We are counting on you! If you cannot make it, please change your RSVP as soon as possible so a replacement can be found. No experience is necessary to volunteer. We'll show you the ropes on the spot :)

Kayaking the Hudson River

Thu, Jul 23, 9:00 PM
From NYC Weekday+ Activities for Gen X Women
5.0

Join us for a free kayaking program that provides an opportunity to get out on the water, experience the Hudson waterfront from a different perspective. ***\*\*This is first come, first serve, so please arrive by 5:00pm to ensure we can all get in the water. Kayaking opens up at 5:30pm.\*\**** **You will need to sign a waiver**. They have print copies at the boathouse but you can preview the waiver [here](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eOSa4E3ShU_IiZswG3T8wGp9aP2cGGBM/view). **No previous kayaking experience is necessary**, but you must know how to swim. Volunteers will give basic paddling instructions, help select and adjust your life vest, and assist you getting in and out of a kayak safely from our floating dock. **Once you’re on the water,** you must stay within the boundaries marked by buoys between the piers, come back after you’ve paddled for 20 minutes, and follow any instructions from our volunteers. You will likely not get wet but light clothing is best. **Read more here:** https://www.downtownboathouse.org **Location:** The Downtown Boathouse is located on Pier 26 at the southern end of Hudson River Park on West Street just north of North Moore Street.
