Give new life to a loved item with simple upcycling and mindful creativity. Beginner‑friendly workshop in North Acton. Give new life to something you already own. In this hands‑on upcycling workshop in London, you’ll bring a jacket, bag, or clothing item that needs a refresh, a stain to hide, a hole to fix, or simply a personality boost, and transform it into something uniquely yours. This session blends creative mindfulness, slow fashion, and accessible upcycling techniques to help you reconnect with your creativity while reducing waste. ♻️ What You’ll Do You’ll start with a short, guided meditation to help you drop into a calm, creative flow state. Then, you’ll customise your chosen piece using pre-made iron‑on patches or make your own patch with fabric scraps. You’ll learn how to hand‑sew, create your own patch using iron‑on backing, and repair stains or holes with simple techniques you can easily repeat at home to refresh your favourite garments. No sewing experience needed. No artistic talent required. Just bring something you’d love to reinvent, repair. 👚What to bring? Suggested items to bring are: Sweatshirts, cotton items like tote bags, jackets, t-shirt, trousers, dresses, denim and linen work well. Think natural fabrics DO NOT BRING items that are completely synthetic, swimwear, leather or heavily embellished items or shoes. Snacks and drinks will be provided. We are an informal and friendly group who meet in one of the studios at the Cockpit Theatre to develop our skills and confidence in a relaxed environment. We will go through a few exercises and try out some: improvisation, script work, duologues or monologues, with participants optionally bringing their own material or pieces to work on together. The exercises and things we work on differ from week to week. Beginners are welcome. The workshop is led by Mark Ramsay, a trained actor with almost 30 years of film and stage experience with occasional assistance from a guest facilitator. Venue: The Cockpit Theatre, Marylebone, Gateforth St, London NW8 8EH, Studio 3 (Upstairs) **Time: 18:00 to 20:00** Cost: £7 for the room hire, payable at the venue in cash **If no longer attending please update RSVP**
