Nibble Night - DEFCON Soldering Meetup

It's almost time for DEFCON! The ScriptKitty team is building flipper-compatible Mesh radios for Defcon classes, and you can learn surface mount soldering at Null Space Labs! Come build with us, or just hang out and see how hacking tools are made. If you have experience with soldering or pick and place for surface mount electronics, come join us for a fun night of music, pizza, and making electronics! We’ll be giving LoRa node kits to volunteers who can help us build for more than 2 hours, but anyone is welcome to hang out and see how electronics are made (and sometimes destroyed)! We’ll be building the Nibble Zero, a Flipper Zero compatible LoRa mesh radio, that also works just fine on its own! These cute Mesh nodes will be powering workshops at Defcon teaching beginners how to get started with Meshcore, Meshtastic, and Reticulum. Songwriting & Studio Sessions - Read Description!

You'll collaborate, network, and walk out of each session with a demo of your own. Here, we work on music and create meaningful connections to artists across genres and skillsets. **We cannot accept those who come unannounced without a ticket unfortunately due to the space constraints.** The cost per person for the session (8 Hours) will be $35 hosted @ Pirate Studios w/ max 3-4 per room. The actual meetup will only last from 9AM - 12PM but you are free to stay and work after the fact until the time runs out. The goal is to create a track at the end of the session! Here is your opportunity to have some fun playing our Live interactive trivia game (Categories will be History, English/literature, Geography, Science, Math, Potpori). HOW IT WORKS: You can attend via a computer & Webcam or Smartphone/Ipad/Tablet. This completely online event will be LIVE and you will be able to see and hear the other participants while playing. In addition you get to meet and interact with other participants. At game time, your host will read off Trivia questions. Your goal is to come up with the right answer to each question and write it down on your paper. Once the round is over (about 6 questions), we will go through the answers and determine who had the highest score for the round. They will get a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize at the end of the event. We will have multiple rounds of play and have a system to also virtually introduce you to other participants. Tuesday Social Walk Around Silver Lake

**\*\*Event is cross-posted with other Meetup groups - there will be attendees from other Meetup groups\*\*** Join us for a social walk around beautiful Silver Lake! There are plenty of amazing views in Silver Lake at night, including the Silver Lake reservoir. Let's get some steps in while socializing and making new connections. Strong winds/rain will cancel the event. We'll start walking **no later than 10 minutes** after the event start time. **TOTAL DISTANCE:** Approximately 2.3 miles round trip (1 loop) - this walk is mostly flat with a small portion of incline/decline I recommend bringing the following: * First aid kit (for accidental trips, falls, scrapes, etc.) * Water * Flashlight * Comfortable walking shoes * Jacket (in case it gets chilly) * Friendly attitude **MEETING LOCATION:** We'll be meeting in front of the Silver Lake Recreation Center sign located at 1850 West Silver Lake Drive (on the south east corner of West Silver Lake Dr. and Van Pelt Pl.) - we'll start walking **no later than 10 minutes** after the event start time **PARKING**: Street parking (be sure to read the signs) **GUESTS**: Attendees are welcome to bring a guest **Release of Liability:** The organizer of this trip/event is a volunteer and is not a professional guide. Concerts in the Park: Personal Picnic + Blue Breeze Band Jazz Night (Altadena)

Come join me on **Saturday, August 15th**, for a fun evening featuring a live performance by the **Blue Breeze Band** at **Loma Alto Park** in **Altadena**! For more than 15 years, the **Blue Breeze Band** has entertained audiences throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii with an energetic mix of Motown, R&B, Soul, Funk, Jazz, and Blues. This award-winning dance band is known for its outstanding musicianship and crowd-pleasing performances, featuring classic Top 40 hits, Motown favorites, R&B, Soul, Funk, '90s Hip-Hop, and Jazz & Blues. Bring your dancing shoes and enjoy an evening of great music, good company, and summer fun! The concert starts at 7 PM, but feel free to arrive early at 5:30 PM to hang out, get settled, and enjoy a personal picnic. There will be no group potluck.
