We meet regularly on the second and fourth Mondays each month. A typical meeting has about 10-15 attendees, ranging in age and genders, with opportunities for everyone to speak each session. Visitors and guests are warmly encouraged to check us out. Pay us a visit and see why we're the friendliest Toastmasters in town! MEETINGS AT Keller Williams Realty in Studio City, at 4061 Lasurel Canyon Blvd, behind Vons supermarket. Ample parking.

**Hey climbing enthusiasts!** Looking for a fun and adventurous way to spend your Friday night? Join us for an exhilarating indoor rock climbing meetup! Jaden and Marvin will wait near the front desk for attendees to arrive. Please message us if you're going to be late. **What’s Happening:** * A welcoming and inclusive environment for climbers of all skill levels. * Bouldering: Show off those climbing skills or just flail around on the wall – both are equally entertaining. * Top Roping: Heights? Pffft. We laugh in the face of heights! We should have a couple of people certified on Belay including myself. * Wisdom from Wannabe Pros: Get tips from climbers who might know what they're talking about. No guarantees, though. * Social: an opportunity to make new friends who share a passion for climbing. * Dinner afterward is optional for those seeking extra social time. **Day pass is $30 if you're not a member —** but you *might* be able to get $10 off if you say you're climbing with Marvin. **Just give us a heads-up beforehand so one of us can be at the front desk when you arrive. Gotta work the system properly 😎.** **👟 Pack List (or don’t, I’m not the boss of you):** * Comfortable athletic clothing. * Climbing shoes and Harness (or you can rent them at the gym). * Water bottle to stay hydrated. * Your adventurous self (non-negotiable) * Positive vibes and a sense of adventure! **Parking on the lot or streets.** **First Timers: The gym requires your signed waiver.** **[https://touchstoneclimbing.com/waiver/](https://touchstoneclimbing.com/waiver/)** **Here are two tutorial videos:** **[https://youtu.be/Gsbu5ENrCq8?si=kUf8y2ulEN9V18L6](https://youtu.be/Gsbu5ENrCq8?si=kUf8y2ulEN9V18L6)** **[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2v4brHpdxY&ab_channel=BoulderingBobat](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2v4brHpdxY&ab_channel=BoulderingBobat)** **Release of Liability:** The organizer (me) of this event is a volunteer and is not a professional guide. The function of the organizer is only to organize this event. Each person who signs up for this event is 100% responsible for his or her safety and the safety of his or her guests. **Quick Note:** If you’re planning to use Marvin for the day pass discount, just make sure to message Marvin ahead of time — He needs to be at the front desk for it to work!

EARLY Fryman Canyon, Studio City - Rainforest & the Nancy Hoover Pohl Overlook

EARLY Fryman Canyon, Studio City - Rainforest & the Nancy Hoover Pohl Overlook

Sat, Jun 6, 2:00 PM
From Hiking Fryman Canyon in Studio City
4.8

It's time to get outdoors and enjoy a 2 hour hike in Studio City! Please keep your RSVP up to date. But if you can't make it, don't worry, I'm not taking attendance. But if you are on the list and are running just a little late (no more 5 minutes, we'll wait for you, if I get the message.) My number is (818) 644-5859. 3453 Fryman Road (corner of Laurel Canyon and Fryman) MEET AT THE KIOSK IN FRONT. It is right at the beginning of the trailhead. There is a free parking along Laurel Canyon. The County is charging $7.00 to $14.00 to park in the lot. You may want to have the correct amount of cash to use the "Iron Ranger". There is the ubiquitous electronic ticket machine that we've all become used to by now. Or, come early and park on Laurel Canyon (watch for the fire hydrants) or park on Sunshine Terrace. People are coming and going so drive carefully and give yourself plenty of time to find a place. Post a message if you are running late. The parking lot has been filling up in the morning. Try arriving 15 minutes early. The first part of the hike is an uphill climb and considered "intermediate". The rest is a gentle uphill slope. There are wide paths and plenty of room for leashed dogs. The TreePeople have opened their bathrooms and there are drinking fountains for humans and dogs. Bring water, sun protection and hiking shoes, or running shoes. The dirt road and trail can be dusty and slippery. Keep that in mind. "Yes" you can trip and or slip. More info about the park: https://mrca.ca.gov/parks/park-listing/wilacre-park/ We visit TreePeople Park. It is a fascinating spot and while we are there we just do a little exploring. There is a short walk in a secluded section of TreePeople Park which is just beautiful and relaxing. Depending on the mood of the hikers we may extend the hike to take in the Rain Forest or continue on to the Nancy Hoover Pohl Overlook on Mulholland. This could extend the hike to 6 or 9 miles. New in town? New to the Santa Monica Mountains? New to hiking? This is a good place to begin to immerse yourself into Los Angeles.
