A regular meetup for those committed to practising and improving their Arabic. It is designed for those who know the very basics and want a structured opportunity to practise reading, listening, speaking, and building confidence. If you're still learning the very basics but want some motivation to keep going, you're very welcome to join. Note: This is a practice group facilitated by a native speaker - not a formal teacher or taught class, and not a Quran teaching session. 📚 SESSION FORMAT: ⏱️ 30 mins Intro & Social: We'll go around and introduce ourselves in Arabic. If you're looking for sensational headlines - this group is defo not for you! But seriously - do you look up and marvel with insatiable curiosity at both the beauty and the wonder of the **universe?** How it began, our place in it, how life evolved and where else in the cosmos other non-microbial life might live (every star you see has exoplanets orbiting - some very similar to Earth with atmospheres) so u have to be naively delusional to believe we are alone in the universe)? **And no I didn't make it up - unless you live in hibernation or have zero idea about our greatest endeavours - you'll know NASA really have found the best evidence to date of ancient life on Mars following further scientific verification of the biological signatures of current microbe life discovered on Venus a few years ago.** So we'll defo take a look at the red planet as well the majestic rings of **Saturn and it's** potential life harbouring moon, , the international space station, Tau Ceti star with **2 Earth like planets** orbiting in the habitable zone, remnants of **supernova** witnessed by our early ancestors plus a range of other fascinating celestial wonderments (comets, star systems, **galaxies**) over drinks and engaging chats and banter this Aug fully hosted by me - a passionate amateur astronomer and former global Reuters journalist covering cutting edge big picture science related stories. BBC **Radio London** (94.9 FM / digital) were there Aug 2023 to cover our meteor shower event broadcasting live to millions of Londoners for 3 hours You don't need a telescope as you will be able to view through scopes belonging to me and other club members (as long as you behave responsibly and don't temper with expensive equipment). If you have your own telescope/binoculars feel free to bring along and I can help you setting it up if you're a newbie. **====ITINERARY=====** We will meet outside Camden Station. After a short wait for anyone delayed, I will escort everyone to our observation point in the park about 15-20 minutes walk away and brief you in terms of what to expect, observing etiquette, tips, equipment handling and take any questions you have - weather general or astronomy/cosmology related. **After Drinks:** on work nights - unless I have a important 9AM Thursday deadline for a client presentation I need to deliver or something - most of us usually head our way back to Camden for another drink till about 1am. Hut to Hut in the Tatra Mountains

**HIGHLIGHTS** * Enjoy five nights hiking between huts in the beautiful Tatra Mountains * One night in Zakopane at the end. * Breakfast & Dinner are included at most huts. * Experience the simplicity of hut-to-hut hiking and the stunning vistas it can provide. * Experienced Hike Leaders will be on hand to guide you throughout. * A mix of challenging days with notable elevation gain and one relaxing day hike * Summit some impressive mountains. * Finish in Zakopane Enjoy the joys of this hut-to-hut mountain experience and relax in various styles of huts that offer local cuisine. While the plans are being finalised at this stage, we canvass interest. The trip will commence at Poprad airport and consist of six nights' accommodation, most of which will be in mountain huts that vary in standard, including sleeping accommodations and catering facilities. **What to Expect** Hiking will vary from moderate trails, energetic sections, Challenging portions, and **one or two very technical areas** involving chains and ladders. It may feel like a via ferrata, but it's not. **A head for heights is essential.** Please review the sections related to food and accommodation below. Each day's hiking distance is anticipated to vary from 6 to 8 hours, covering a distance of 11 to 20 km, with an elevation gain of 800m to 1,500 m. The third day will be a short day's hike due to the nature and location of the huts. However, on this day, alternative hiking options will be offered. Most huts will mean sharing a room with many people, not always in our group, of both sexes, or sharing a room with others in our group, again, in a **mixed-sex room**.
