Weekend afternoon open jam (Free) + social | 2nd Aug 3pm, Vortex downstairs

Afternoon jam and performances, free and open to a public audience and participants. Anyone at any skill level can join in to play (or sing) - mostly jazz standards. There is no fixed repertoire, and what is played depends on what everyone calls - please put your name and instrument (or vocals) down on the sign up sheet, which will usually be on the downstairs bar. Earlier arrivals will usually be asked to play first, so you may wish to plan to come early. Litter Pick - Lewisham/Deptford (SE London)

Join the Eco Around Community for a litter-pick walk from Lewisham DLR station to Deptford Bridge station along the Waterlink Way, facilitated by Biljana. Waterlink Way connects several parks and green spaces in Lewisham borough, following the Pool and Raversbourne rivers. It stretches 8 miles from South Northwood Country Park to the Cutty Sark ship in Greenwich. Considered one of South London’s hidden gems, it not only provides an enjoyable route to walkers and cyclists, but it also improves habitats for aquatic wildlife. While maintained by Lewisham Council, contributing to the Waterlink Way’s extra clear-up would be much appreciated. **When:** Saturday, 1 August, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm **Where:** We’ll start from Lewisham DLR station and follow the Ravensbourne River along the Waterlink Way, cutting through Brookmill Park, and finishing at Deptford Bridge DLR station. Whether you have played golf or never played golf before this will be a lot of fun! I have reserved a few Bays and we will have 3 X people per bay. Its likely we will have some who have played golf before so we will get a person in each bay who has done it before. You can track on the Screen how far you have hit your shot and can compete with others :) At the event you will get your own Golf Club per pay and 180 balls (60 each) normally 60 balls takes around 30 minutes, so total time will be 90 mins. There are sofas in the bay where you can relax, also you can grab drinks from the bar and food / snacks. **Location** This will be at North Greenwich. Day trip to Cambridge

What comes to your mind when you think of Cambridge? It's probably going to be the University. But there is so much more to see. Be inspired by the many beautiful museums and art galleries. Admire the beautiful architecture and majestic college buildings. Explore beautiful old passages set around the historic market place and colleges, where a unique and relaxing shopping experience can be found. Here you have a mix of independent shops and high street brands. Or relax in the many beautiful pubs, restaurants and cafes. The price includes return train ticket and the bus back to Cambridge station in the afternoon. When we arrive there will be a guided tour of the city, with free time for lunch and sight-seeing. We will be following the flat, panoramic King Charles III England Coast Path, starting in vibrant Whitstable and ending at the golden shores of Birchington-on-Sea.
