Morning 5K & Coffee: Golden Gate Promenade (Presidio)

Join along for a scenic 5K run along the breathtaking Golden Gate Promenade! This run is for casual runners or anyone looking for a fun way to stay active. You'll get to enjoy beautiful ocean views as we run along the bay, with the beautiful Presidio on one side and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge on the other. We'll meet in front of the Crissy Field Center and wait for up to 15 minutes for any late arrivals. After the run (we'll finish where we started), we'll grab some coffee/pastries at the Starbucks inside the Presidio. Any coffee enthusiast living the the Bay Area should know The Crown! They train baristas and are one of the only places in the Bay that train Q-graders (coffee equivalent of a sommeliers). As they are coffee importers, their beans are always super fresh and super tasty. I figured this would be a fun shop to hold the first event at. Come grab a coffee flight, bring what you're drinking that you're really digging, and, most importantly, come ready to hang out with some fellow coffee enthusiasts! Anyone is welcome. Cheers!

They offer both lighter pastry options as well as full meals perfect for brunch, and of course coffee and tea. *How to Get There:* Bus: next to stops for the 12 route. 2 blocks from the 688 route. 10-12 min walk (0.5 miles) from the 79 and 52 routes. BART: 13 minute walk (0.6 miles) from North Berkeley Station Parking: street parking available. Would recommend turning off Hopkins to a residential street like California or McGee, where your luck will be better.

📍 **1:30pm Meet inside. Look for sketchbooks and art supplies.** 🎨 Roam freely. Sketch what you see. ☕ Pull up a chair anytime to draw with us and talk art. 📓 3:15pm. We wrap things up with show & tell throwdown. This is organized by the **[Cafe Art Circle](https://www.zenbay.org/cafe_art_circle)** meetup under SF Sketchers. We explore coffee and tea shops around the Bay Area, using sketching as a way to experience the atmosphere of each place and its neighborhood. Verve Coffee Roasters was founded in Santa Cruz in 2007 and emerged during the rise of third-wave coffee, a movement that treats coffee as an artisanal craft with an emphasis on sourcing, roasting, and brewing quality. Their Market & Church cafe brings that philosophy into a bright urban space. Personally’s it’s one of the roasters I pick up on my grocery trips to Berkley Bowl and Whole Foods.

Take Time to Write at Cafenated Coffee

Let's meet up to write on Sunday at the Cafenated Coffee Company in north Berkeley. Anyone who writes is welcome! We'll be inside of Cafenated, and I'll have a sign saying "East Bay Time to Write". We'll write in two 50-minute blocks, with breaks in between and after. Come find us between 10:00 and 10:30 to get set up in time for our first one at 10:30. Schedule: 10:00 - arrive, get drinks, chat 10:30 - first focused writing block 11:20 - break 11:30 - second writing block 12:20 - finish, optionally hang out About the location: There will be WiFi and some (limited) outlets. We'll be indoors, but they typically leaves the doors open so that the space is well-ventilated. The coffee shop offers coffee, tea, bottled drinks, and typically some pastries and cooked food. Please buy something to support them! About the group: Anyone who writes is welcome -- novelists, playwrights, academics, journalers. This isn't a critique group, and there's no pressure to share your work. We're here for camaraderie, moral support, and friendly peer pressure, so you can focus on taking time to do what you love to do.
