Ballona Wetlands

The Los Angeles Audubon Society will be hosting Open Wetlands at the Ballona Wetlands on the first Saturday of the month, from 9 am to noon. We recommend wearing masks and social distancing. Come enjoy the morning air and your local wetland under the guidance of our trained naturalists. Covid-19 protocols will be followed. Enter through the gate located in the northeast corner of the parking lot behind Alkawater/Gordon’s Market, in the 300 block of Culver Blvd. in Playa del Rey. No baby strollers please. No pets. Join us for a concert at the Eagle Rock Recreation Center! This week features ABBA-La, playing all the classic disco-pop hits. When: Date: Sunday, July 19, 2026 Time - 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM (Linus and Christine will be there at 4:30 PM) Where: Eagle Rock Recreation Center 1100 Eagle Vista Drive Los Angeles, CA What to bring: Confort Gear - A chair or blanket, warm layers (jacket, long sleeves), and sun protection (wide-brim hat, sunglasses). Food and drinks - A dish or snack to share with 5 people, plus your own drinks (keep alcohol discreet!) Venue rules: Dogs - The venue prefers no dogs, but if you must bring yours, they must be leashed at all times. Canopies & Umbrellas - Allowed only in the very back so they don't block anyone's view. A San Marino/Lacy Park & Beyond, 10k-Steps Challenge #40 [TCP MOAI Adventure]

And while 15,000 or 20,000 steps would be great, they also require more time. So to make it fun and manageable, we’re starting with 10k steps as a challenge—and we may increase the goal in future events. **THE IMPORTANT POINTS ARE THESE;** Space is limited, so **please RSVP only if you’re 100% sure you’ll attend.** 🙏🏾If you RSVP and don’t show, you will be 🚩Red Flagged 🚩for future events—we all appreciate reliability and respect for others' abilities to get a spot to walk!🙏🏾 Expect to hit somewhere between **10,000–12,000 steps (approximately 7.5-9 miles),** depending on the pace and group. However, they must be on a leash and it will be your own responsibility. No running involved. Just a casual, social walk. Bring water if you need it. **Free street parking is available in the surrounding areas. Please avoid parking inside the park lot, as the gates may close before we finish our walk.** **Park closes at dusk so I strongly advise against parking inside any of the lots. Self teaching yoga diagrams will be provided. bring your own mat, you can also just do it on the grass.
