Hi chiccies, I am back from overseas and eager to host my monthly lunches. I know this is last minute, but I hope some of you can join me for lunch at the new Sydney Fish Markets at Pyrmont next Saturday. I've booked a table of 12 at Touch Wood. LOCATED ON THE SUN-DRENCHED CORNER OF THE BRAND NEW SYDNEY FISH MARKET, TOUCH WOOD IS AN AUSTRALIAN BRUNCH INSPIRED ALL DAY DINING VENUE, INCORPORATING CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN CUISINE ALONG WITH FRESH SEAFOOD AND ARTISAN LOCAL SUPPLIERS. The restaurant is located on the Upper Ground level of the Sydney Fish Market, on the northern corner of the terrace. If we are less than 12, the menu will be à la carte, if not with 12 people it will be their $55 banquet menu which looks delicious. Please note there is a 10% surcharge on weekends. As usual, I have given my credit card as guarantee, so noshos or on the day cancellations will not be accepted as I need to advise final numbers the day before. **Bondi to Manly in 7 Stages! - Spit Bridge to Manly 12KM** **In this 7-walk series**, we cover **90.5KM in total** to explore the worlds greatest harbour city at a pace which allows us to enjoy the amazing sights and sounds of Sydney! **In Episode 6,** we meet directly outside **Grumpys Wharf Café** which is 30 metres from the intersection of Spit Road and Parriwi Road by **no later than 10:30AM**. (Bus service to this location is high frequency) We walk across the Spit Bridge and around to **Clontarf Beach** for a quick coffee stop and toilet break. A further 2km in we inspect **Grotto Point Lighthouse** (it is still operational) and the site of Aboriginal rock carvings and pushing along, past magnificent views of the east harbour, to **Tania Park, Balgowlah**, where we stop for lunch, 6.5KM in. **Lunch Options: Eat your packed lunch in Tania Park, where there is seating and a bathroom. Or, members can buy lunch at Balgowlah Bowling Club which is 300 meters away together with a Café and an Indian Takeout. Spoiled for choice!** After lunch we hit the **Dobroyd Headland trail** and descend to the lookout for some pictures, no doubt. We then pass **Fourty Baskets Beach** and **Jillings Cove** and head for Manly Wharf via the F**airlight Beach walk**. **What to Bring:** Please bring snacks and lunch, hat, sunscreen, plenty of water. Mid-Winter Snorkel at Bare Island, La Perouse. Meet at the far side of the footbridge, on the island, walk down the steps on the left and go under the bridge. We will meet at 11:00 am.

North Harbour Spendour! St Leonards to Milson’s Point finishing at Taronga!

**This is a lovely walk that covers the north coastline of Sydney Harbour to the west and east of Milson’s Point.** **We start at St Leonards Train Station at 9.45am.** **From here we follow Berry Creek and make our way to Berry Island Reserve and Oyster Cove Reserve reaching the Coal Loader Wharf. There is a toilet here and a water refill station.** **We then go to Berry Bay Lookout (where the BP Fuel Terminal used to be) and then to Waverton Park and Sawmillers Reserve where the remains of a rusty shipwreck lie in the sand.** **We continue through to Lavender Bay and the beautiful Blues Point Reserve.** **From here we head to Milson’s Point via Wendy’s Garden.** **We stop for lunch at Milson’s Point.** **Then we make our way through Kirribilli (and say high to the PM if he is about), to Milson Park, Kesterton Park, Anderson Park and Cremorne Reserve. There is a toilet here and a refill station.** **Then off to Reid park and Sirius Point Reserve before making our way to Taronga Zoo Ferry Terminal, from which we will catch a ferry to Circular Quay.** **We will aim to finish at Circular Quay by 3.30pm, from which we can catch a train to return home.** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **DISTANCE: About 16 kms.** **GRADE: Moderate, due to distance. Rose Bay to Maroubra Beach! Whale Migration Lookouts all the way!

**This walk will take us on the coast along some ocean front scenery that is absolutely stunning.** **We will stop at many lookouts for humpback whales, right in the middle of peak season for whale migration!** **There are plenty of exit points so it’s perfect for anyone who is not sure how far they will be able to walk.** **We will meet at Circular Quay, Wharf 2 at 9am.** **The ferry leaves at 9.15am (so please be on time) and arrives at Rose Bay at 9.28am.** **We start our walk to Bondi Beach, then Tamarama Beach (or as it’s referred to by the locals, Glamourama Beach), Bronte Beach, Clovelly Beach and Coogee Beach where we will probably stop for lunch.** **We will stop at Mistral Point as well as other lookouts before we make our way to Maroubra Beach.** **We will aim to finish by 3pm, maybe 3.30pm if we spot whales and linger a bit, from which we can go for a drink at Maroubra Seals or catch a bus back to the city.** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **DISTANCE: About 13 kms.** **GRADE: Easy to medium.** **NOTE: Many exit options along the way. Winter wandering in Royal NP! Waterfall to Uloola Falls, Karloo, Olympic pools!

This walk takes us from Waterfall to Uloola falls, Karloo pool and then to Olympic pool. **We will start at Waterfall Train Station (exit train station and turn left until you get to the drop-off area) at 9.15am. **From here we will follow the Uloola Fire Trail for about 5kms to Uloola Falls, where we stop for a snack and I will show you a secret swimming hole with little waterfalls. We will then follow the Karloo Track for 3 kms to Karloo Pools ,where we will have lunch.Then we will follow Kangaroo Creek to Olympic pool. We will head to Heathcote Train Station via the Bottle Forest track. We will arrive at Heathcote train station by 3.30 pm. **DISTANCE: About 14 km.** GRADE: Medium, there are a few hills to climb. Royal NP at its best! Waterfall to Loftus via Forest Walk, Palona Cave & Audley

**Are you looking for a bit of adventure? This might be the walk for you!** **We will start at Waterfall Train Station.** **From here we will follow the track to the Forest Walk, a shady track that makes its way around Forest Island. On our way, there is only one moderate climb and one creek crossing where we might get wet feet if there has been significant recent rain. Forest Island is a sheltered rainforest ecological environment with ferns, palms, mosses, and creek scenery to admire. At the end, we will have a break at the Palona Picnic Area.** **From here, we will make our way to Palona Cave. We will explore the cave, a large limestone overhang featuring columns, stalactites and a little waterfall (a bit of scrambling will probably be required if you’d like to explore the waterfall). We will have lunch here.** **Then we'll return to Lady Carrington Drive, which is the first scenic route to be built through the National Park. It follows the Hacking River and took 3 years to build, opening in 1886.** **This will take us to Audley, where there are toilets and a café. We will have another break here.** **There is no opportunity to exit the walk until we reach Audley.** **From Audley, we ascend the Honeymoon Track up to Rawson Parade Track then on to finish at Loftus Train Station.** **We will aim to finish by 3.30pm, from where we can catch a train back to Sydney.** **\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*** **DISTANCE: Around 20 km.** **GRADE: Medium, Grade 3.** **NOTE: Only get-out point is at Audley by Uber.
