**SPARX SOCIAL** **New Friends, Big Conversations & Unexpected Fun** Have you ever noticed how making new friends as adults can be strangely difficult? Most of us aren’t looking for more social media connections. We’re looking for real conversations. Genuine people. A few laughs. Perhaps a reminder that life still has plenty of adventures left in it. That’s what this evening is all about. **Join us** for a relaxed and entertaining night featuring: ✨ Fun and interactive social games. ✨ A couple of short thought-provoking talks. ✨ Open Mic (share a story, idea, joke or life lesson if you’d like) ✨ Great conversation with friendly, welcoming people. No awkward networking. No sitting quietly in the corner. No expertise required. Just a room full of interesting people who are curious about life and open to making new connections. Whether you’re new to Midlife Sparx or have attended before, you’ll be warmly welcomed. Because some of the best friends we haven’t met yet are sitting in a room we haven’t walked into. 📅 **Thursday 2nd of July.** **📍 Barrel Below, 115 Clarence Street, Sydney.** **⏰ 6:30 PM.** **Come along.** Meet some great people. Share a laugh. You never know where one conversation might lead.

Movie & Buffet Dinner Night; VIP Private Screening of "500 DAYS IN THE WILD"

Sun, Jul 5, 5:15 AM
From OZ Outdoors

Social Event - Movie & Dinner Night; We have organised a VIP Private Screening of the award winning movie; "500 DAYS IN THE WILD". The 2-hour documentary weaves together adventure, personal reflections, stunning wildlife, and human connection on the rigorous and beautiful TCT Trail, stretching from the Atlantic to the Pacific Coast, as well as the Arctic Ocean. 500 Days in the Wild dives deeply into both the physical and emotional travails of tackling an almost impossible adventure. 500 Days surprises with cinematic action, intimate experiences, and visual poetry. 500 Days In The Wild follows the epic 6-year journey of filmmaker Dianne Whelan as she sets out to reconnect with nature and become the first person to travel the world's longest trail. The 24,000 km Trans Canada Trail stretches across the continent of North America, connecting the Atlantic, Arctic and Pacific oceans. It is the longest trail in the world. For six years filmmaker Dianne Whelan traveled the entirety of the land and water trails, the only person to ever accomplish this journey. 500 Days (which is 12,000 hours) in the Wild recounts Dianne's journey by bike, canoe, skis, snowshoes and on foot and her cross-cultural visits with those who live close to the land. This feature doc culled from 800 hours of footage is an intricate weave of adventure film, personal reflection and stunning captures of wildlife and landscapes. Using humour, adventure, beautiful cinematography and a great soundtrack (including songs from Joni Mitchell, First Aid Kit, Xavier Rudd, and The Tragically Hip), 500 Days in the Wild will entertain audiences and inspire hope for the future. She started out alone, disillusioned with state of the world, to look for different ways of caring for the land and for each other. She ended the journey a bit wiser, more hopeful, in love and with a passion to share this story with you. This is an unforgettable journey and an unforgettable film. WARNING: You may want to quit your job after watching this Inspiring, Intimate & Incredible Movie based on a True Adventure Story - A MUST SEE. \# Details * Rated CTC * Runtime 120 minutes * Genre Documentary * Director Dianne Whelan * Actors Dianne Whelan, Louisa Robinson * Language English * Country Canada * Awards Winner - Grand Prize VIMFF, Winner - Best Film World Trail Film Festival, Winner - Best Film Nordic Adventure Film Festival, Winner - Audience Award - Victoria Film Festival. 500 DAYS IN THE WILD TRAILER; [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-0XhbQwerI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-0XhbQwerI) We will start with the Movie, followed by an award winning Vegetarian all you can eat buffet dinner & then you can do an optional Kirtan Mantra Meditation. The restaurant is located on the Upper Ground level of the Sydney Fish Market, on the northern corner of the terrace. If we are less than 12, the menu will be à la carte, if not with 12 people it will be their $55 banquet menu which looks delicious. Please note there is a 10% surcharge on weekends. As usual, I have given my credit card as guarantee, so noshos or on the day cancellations will not be accepted as I need to advise final numbers the day before.
